About the picture in post 1007 I`m wondering if you cut the bottom of the sleeve completely out or did you leave a small part to help keep the integrity of the sleeve? Seems like if you cut it out the roundness at the bottom will change and maybe squeeze the piston.

Did not cut any thing on the bottom of the what I call the register in the block.
The walls between the boost and finger do not go all the way to the bottom as cast.
Just cut the slot in the bottom of the cylinder to unblock the flow to the small ports.
As far as the steel sleeve its self the bottom windows just need to be raised. The width is close to what is needed.

ID:	396345OK happy birthday to me...........LOL
Time to assemble the new engine.
Total cost of the new block is $800 ready to assemble.
$400 for two new pistons and $167 for one rod.
The worst part was 1 new sport jet reed block $170 for that bugger.
1 new rod bearing set $50 and 2 new intake gaskets $25
Need less to say I will make sure the dam thing is not to lean the next time I spool it up............LOL
Not relay to broke up over it all needed a reason to try a new port map any way.
That and I love to build engines.
The boat is just some thing to hang a eng on to me.
