Thought the shooters on here might enjoy this.
Looks like there is another 30 cal round for the AR. Wildcatted from the 6.5 Grendel brass. Being able to shoot a 150gr. 30 cal at 2400+fps from an AR15 makes me want an AR10 less and less.

Probably gonna be expensive to shoot coming from the 6.5 casing. I've been thinking about buying something to shoot one of the latest and greatest rounds but my wallet keeps telling me no. I've seen what the 300 BLK will do at 600 yds and for a slow bullet it's not too bad but obviously that one looks like it would do better. My .308 bolt action reaches out to 1000 yds at a good price so its here to stay for now.....the Nemo 300 Win. AR keeps calling my name but the wallet just won't open quite wide enough. The price of a gun isn't a factor but ammo prices are what keeps some of us away from certain rounds.

Then it's time to start reloading.

U could just ante up for a Smith and Wesson M&P 10 and shoot the plethora of excellent cheap 308 ammo.
Love mine, its as light as my BCM4, and it shoots great.

The MP10 has to slender a barrel.
I wish they would make an AR10 that shoots 7.62x54r. Then we could shoot really cheap.

The cheep way to shoot is to invest in reloading. I love the 300 BLK platform and what it was originally designed for you can go Supersonic to Sub. While the OTC sub rounds are expensive on avarage ($1.40 >>>) I did find some the other week in 220 gr sub for .090. But after the initial investment in 8 lbs of powder, Brass, Bullets dies, primers me and my bro can reload for around .45 each.

The 277 Wolverine in the AR platform is what I'm working on right now, it is VERY impressive. It uses 223 length brass and there is a guy making the brass if you don't wanna get into annealing. Dies can be purchased for about 75 dollars and the only thing you have to do is change barrels, same mags for 223.

I have reloading stuff. I made sure I bought everything I needed before the immaculation of the chosen one. I will say the milspec 5.56 have given me some issues though. I need a bolt gun in the same caliber.
I loaded every spare case I had before I moved to my new house.
I have just gotten to where I don't want to shoot any ammo, I am keeping it. I shoot my deer rifles, but mainly use factory ammo in them. I just put a 4x16-50mm Monarch 3 with BDC on my 270. Got my ammo picked and bought, and the spot on chart printed and laminated, so all I need now is a long shot on a deer. And I have to sight it in too.
Love that spot on technology app on my phone too.

I don't want a bull barrel, but I would like one that could take some extended shooting. Does that one come with 5r rifling like the MP15 does? I have the MOE version of that gun, and really like it. It has some kind of patent pending muzzle brake on it, that makes it a little longer than it needs to be though.

I'm not sure on the 5R, I have an Aimpoint PRO mounted on mine and after 7 mags full in fairly rapid succession I noticed no appreciable zero shift or stringing
