I talked about this in the (Merc V6 History) thread some time ago. When a boat goes thru a turn at speed, the fuel in the bowl is thrown to the outside and if there's a single float, the nozzle on the outside goes rich and the one on the inside goes lean. With two floats, each nozzle is centered in its own fuel bowl and the mixture stays more or less constant to both.

All at once we have an “INTERESTING “ thread right here in the “TRICKS” section——-we have folk talking technical———billet rods instead of forgings——— twin float bowls to combat surge——— OMC carbs instead of Tillotson. Most of the old farts will prove time and time again, they’re no where near the “Numpties” they pretend to be.

Gene, wasn’t it illegal to grow “weed” in California until very recently ? How come 100 million dollars worth of the stuff is ready for sale over the counter in the first month alone ? And this is what was declared to the inland revenue ———- imagine how much was really sold !
At this rate, it should overtake the sex industry by next September.

1978 trying to knock a 1930/s pig farm with an encyclopaedia full of history ( particularly motor racing) into some sort of shape.
It had a big old detached farmhouse———- a 300’ Long barn——- a 500’ run of brick built pig sties with farrowing houses. A massive four storey brick built “BOTHY” ( look it up on google) and about 10/12 acres of grass.
Previously owned by a certain Mr. S. F. Edge, a very famous pre war motor racing character——— hence the name “BROOKLANDS FARM”.
An outbreak of swine fever in 1932 closed down the pig farm until after the Second World War——- But all the buildings survived,.
Coolham airfield was a thousand yards north———- it was a spitfire base, mostly Polish pilots who were Billeted in the long barn At BROOKLANDS .
Ok, so you now have some idea of where this was all taking place—— slap bang in the middle of nowhere, in the heart of Sussex.—- There were seven of us, ( eight if you count Pruett our pet golden Labrador ).
My original idea was to build our own little village——— a house for each of the kids—— that was my first big mistake——— you cannot live your kids lives—— you can teach and guide and pray——— end of.
Anyway, I digress, but in my defence, I am only trying to give you some background leading up to quite a memorable occurrence in our lives.
My eldest daughter Sandra was away at nursing college and only came back at weekends. She and Boy friend Steve had moved into half of the long barn and were wanting a garden, so I gave them the bit with the above ground pool and the twenty by ten greenhouse.
She put together a beautiful garden which surprised me——— fenced it all in and planted some trees and shrubs and in no time flat,it was a little paradise,
Come July, Sandy informs us, she’s off touring italy for a month and would we kindly water the greenhouse every day——— she pointed out the seedlings and said to make sure the door was closed at night.
Sometime in August my wife commented that the tomato plants had prodigious growth but no flowers as yet. The summer was long and hot and the greenhouse needed watering twice a day , was the end of August when I first noticed the glass panels on the roof lifting clean off the frame.——- then the. sides bulged out.
My wife said they must not have been a recognised make of tomatoes as there was so little fruit, but once they got started it would be a good crop.
Luckily my daughter came back and took over proceedings. She was 21 years old at the time ———— it was not until ten years later she told me the full story——— apparently ALL the other kids knew exactly what was going on at the time.
Never realised why her friends came to water the greenhouse twice a day——— just thought all her mates were really nice helpful kids.
Swear on a stacka that's the absolute truth!

Very much appreciated. All the phoggies are now with Mark, ready for D Day ——— the minute anything happens I’ll post you the piccies.
Finally got the tunnel away—— via a new postal system “post 2 go”- Total cost was under $20 . It advertises a 3/4 day door to door delivery service——- if that’s true Johnno, look out for it Wed/Thurs.
Had an hour in the shop thi morning———- but it was enough.

Well, surprise, surprise, been summoned for another set of X Rays——-but not until 18:30 hours.
Still I should be able to get a parking spot without the usual “punch up”. at that time of night——- quite amazing just how violent even little old ladies can get, when there’s three of em going round and round the car park, all looking for a non existent place to park .
I tell you ——- it’s a breeding ground for middle to old age hoodlums.
My friend George Hooper who lives in SAN Diego got a hole in one whilst playing in a tournament at Torrey Pines———-I made him a commemorative trophy of a mounted Deusenburg nearly a year ago.
Yesterday I posted it via Post 2 go——— again, for around twenty dollars.
Would appear to be the new way to go in posting parcels to the states——— most concepts go between five and ten pounds——- but the postage has always been the killer.
Last box of “Concepts” cost near three hundred dollars.
May try half an hour in the shop today——— two hours was too much yesterday, so I’ll take the softly. Softly route.
