Merry Christmas to Lassie Strom———- and Lady Zumba—— we don’t always see eye to eye———— but I’ve always thought he was the best of the OE drivers——— including Molinari.

Maybe Lassie could put me right on this little conundrum.
When Seebold lined up with the OZ’s in Bristol———- Weren’t there FIFTEEN OMC’s and ONE MERC?
Reason for this was the fact the goalposts had been moved !
Any engine in the world——— in fact any multiple engines in the world qualified for OZ.
But OMC in its wisdom had the designation altered———- only motors above two litres could qualify for OZ——- this in effect meant non of the ON class racers could compete in Bristol with the OZ!
Leo had less than ten minutes to swop powerheads and put an overbored two liter head on the existing leg.———- When Molinari slowed———- where were the other fourteen OZ OMC’s.
There were some very illustrious names in that line up——-maybe they were a bit off colour that day.
As Lassie so often says——— Merc followers do tend to “BANG ON “. About it.

Me myself, along with most other drivers, from both camps hated the devious tricks and law suits that went on between the camps.
The result of all this was the liquidation of OMC———-and the massive decline in power boat competition . Everyone lost out.

I have never been against big motors———- I have always been against unlimited capacity———
If they made the top limit 1000 cc I would be very happy.
If the top limit was 3500cc I would still be happy !
Basic rules, normally aspirated, pump fuel ——— capacity fixed for ten years.

From three litres to four and a half in twelve months could only spell disaster.

Jackie, It sounds like something out of the Twilight Zone. As Rod Serling would say: “There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man ... a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.” I was thinking that one of your fellow countrymen might come to the rescue, but all seems to be quiet. We might have to put this one on the list of unexplained phenomenon along with Caldwell Racing Technology.

Thought you might have been married to My sainted mother in an earlier life————she used to-slip into the fifth dimension——— But, you got the location wrong——— it was nowhere near the pit of mans fears and the summit———-
If you went past the Golden Fleece——— turned left at the Beehive and Crosskeys——— across the square, past the Dog and Vomit, you couldn’t miss it——- you could get a luverly glass of champagne in there and all questions would be answered by the celestial hooded transvestite with the 38 DD who spoke with a lisp, but dribbled !

    Ok let’s go for it———-
Is there such a thing as a complete CTR engine ?
Has anyone ever done a dyno test on a CTR ?
Has anyone ever tested a genuine CTR powerhead, (besides the one on the duckpond.)

With an annual turnover of under thirty thousand bucks, it can only be a one man band.?
If it is, congratulations——— that was a glorious con.

Woke up to snow this morning———— so I turned over and went back to sleep.
Another visit with the doctor this morning, maybe he knows something the others don’t——— by the time I got home , the snow had all gone.

I have raced against John many times———— I should have stopped and thought about, instead of spouting off———I apologise John.
Another of my good friends at LOBPC was Neil Gregg——— Frankie Homes and Peter Sabberton were a couple more, and of course Bob and Tom.

Hi Jackie i am going to push your memory to its limit here cast your mind back to early 1971 you ran the little black Molinari sprint boat and raced it at Covenham Ron Burchell Grimsby and Cleethorpes club held the event we had 3 Merc Twisters running Bob Spalding ran his black Milesmaster boat Mach One and Tom Percival ran for the first time i ever saw him ran the 3rd Twister1 on the boat in the picture which was a Abbate i think it was also painted black.I think John Clabburn had the boat off Tom when he got his new Molinari with the JPS sponsership.
