Another day not in the shop———- had to do something useful, so I made the kitchen goddesses her favourite Tasmanian Fish Chowder.
Many years ago before the pyramids and Gengis Khan, I visited Hobart , on the quay there were many restaurants————only one of them was jam packed full with a line of people waiting to be served, Decided we would dine there. One of my better decisions, the food was outstanding .
Started with this mind blowing “Blue travail chowders———- if you never sold anything else in the restaurant but this———- you could make a killing, I just had to have this recipe ——— this lady sat down beside and recited the process from beginning to end.
take a huge iron pan———-throw in half a pound of butter two fine chopped onions, sliced leeks and celery, dice some carrots and potatoes, boil them for ten minutes ——- take a pack of streaky smoky bacon and chop it fine, rapid fry until crispy add to the simmering mass throw in a can of tomatoes and stir in rapidly two tablespoons of plain flour two quarts of fish stock half a pound of smoked haddock and a pound of blue travail , simmer for half an hour then pour in a pint of fresh cream season to taste , serve when you feel like it ——— keeps in the fridge for three days.
im not just a pretty face!———today I got brownie points.

Went to the car boot ———-after ten minutes my pants started to fall down, found a friendly stall holder who managed to hoik them up for me. Muscles decided not to work today, had to call in for an early pick up, never got around to buying a thing.———started to rain anyway! Maybe I’ll get around to reading my latest Ken Follett book after all.

That will be the day. If I could afford a gallon of that stuff, I would keep it for myself.

...I love this stuff. Seafood type stews/gumbo's/chowder's, etc., are the greatest. Screw that silly boat talk drone...this will make me type every time Jackie. Thanx for sharing the recipe.

Youre welcome Fuji ——— it’s ok to chuck in a few of your favourites like, clams, abalone, mussels, shrimp, coquille st. Jaques, the restaurant in question was called MURES, the lady that gave me the recipe was Jill Mure.

My friend the doctor walked into the lounge yesterday, took one look at my bottle of 15 year old “Melrose” and said, “you don’t see many of those lying about” ———-asked him what he meant by that?—————-classic single malt, he says—————known to the very rich as “REVENGE”.
By now, he has my full attention, (This is the bottle sent to me by MY FRIEND JOHNNO ———ROTORY JOHN).
I just had to ask why? ———BEST SERVED COLD AND SAVOURED SLOWLY.

I shall serve only myself this particular brew, eking it out and remembering my friend Johnno!
Sincere thanks Johnno——— boats on its way Monday.J.

William, still have an Acheson Topeka Choo Choo I did for you many years ago———-called it Willabee.
Seemed the right thing to do at the time, ———-kept hoping we might meet up one day, either at the old farts November Fest or a celebratory dinner for some worthless old racer or other, but the chances are getting less and less!
Me myself was in tolerable shape until the middle of this year———— then the reaper crapped on my doorstep———- he moved on rapidly after a swift kick up the arse, took his droppings with him, told him I’d call him if and when he’s needed.
Anyway Willa, I’ve changed since then———-now ,I’m all sweetness and light, polite and AGREEABLE,
BLOODY HOORAY, I’m even civil and nice to Lasse Evinrude these days!
