Hand a stonking morning in the shop, all fitted together like a jigsaw-----would have finished the Cowes/Torquay concept if I hadn't been called in to lunch-------I don't have large enough cojones to ignore the call !
However, if I carry on the same course, without interruption, who knows what I might achieve?

Travel insurance is due again, so I have to do a few "Concepts" to pay the premium.
Forget to tell you------I think I am the new owner of car park F, North terminal--Gatwick--!!!!!!!

Back in the old routine-----Thursday again, guess what, I'm on the prowl !
The aerodrome beckons, seems like ages since I was last there, in fact it's only two weeks.
All my grandkids in Florida are on a mercy mission to the keys, loaded up trucks with food, water, clothes, blankets, power tools and generators-------transport provided by the Islamorada Beer Company. I know now that the Wilsons are part and parcel of America------wild horses wouldn't drag them back to England.
Whilst I'm proud to be English, I've noticed over the last twenty years that the family have become "Americanised", all the kids want to take up US citizenship and even Mark and Vicky are seriously thinking about it.
    Nothing stays the same forever!

Nothing wrong with the food--------it's the bloody silly QUANTITIES that are served up-------no getting away from the fact, Americans are becoming a nation of "LARDARSES" ( along with the English ).

Thought at least one of the colonials would have taken unbridge at my remarks concerning fat friends in florida--------guess all the fire and brimstone died out long ago------sometime around the civil war!
What could be an interesting site just popped up entitled Shakespeare. Avon Special, well worth a cursory glance if you get time.
Grandson Craig's birthday today --------feels like he was just born a couple of years ago yet I'm told he's over thirty.
World champion three times over -----missed out on another two titles ------one by one point and the other one on countback !
Just had the doc take another look at this old frame------it's in tolerable shape but the bonce needs a blast of something or other-------just to clear the pipes !
Whoever said growing old must be nice was seventeen at the time and a bit of a pillock!

Nice-n-easy day in the shop yesterday. You know when you pick up a chunk of timber that has a shake running through it--------look at it for a month or two and wonder what the tell you can fashion out of it? Then it smacks you right between the peepers and you wonder why did I not see that before !
Long and short if it is ------a cut down "LUCAS OIL" concept, hells teeth, I don't do models or scale sizes or even accurate, so go for it ! A three hour stint and I'm well on the way to a "passable" project!
finished my lunch and switched the TV sport on, was surprised to see the start of the F1 Singapore GP.
As most of you know, I am no longer an avid fan of this particular sport due to the total dishonesty of what goes on in F1 ! ----particularly the heavy billion dollar gambling that is rife in the Far East.
Here we go again-----opening lap-----now what sort of odds would you imagine you could get on a wipe out of the front three runners in the opening lap !??? Hundred to one-----five hundred to one ???
Mercedes first and third-------fifty to one-----no finish for Ferrari? Twenty five to one ?
You only have to visit any casino in the world and watch the high rollers, all far eastern-----and they bet on ANYTHING but particularly car racing, football, cycling, cricket, chess and checkers !
Its no coincidence that all front running F1drivers are MULTI millionaires.
Look back at the history of the "SPORT" over the last twenty years----- it stinks----far cry from the days of honest to goodness racing.
Lots of you will think I'm crazy----talking out of my arse----rambling----the old boys lost the plot, etc.
I can assure you I'm as sane as I've ever been. Just dissilutioned.
Enough of all this, I'm off back into the shop to do what I like doing best, fernagling.

Could never quite understand how I can make a complete pigs ear of finishing any piece I've ever done.-------tried everything, epoxy, varnish, painting and polishing. Everything I touch turns to worms!
Simply wax polishing works best for me-------trouble is, it needs at least six coats and I don't have enough time ( or energy ) left, to spend it buffing up a concept.
Chugged along nicely today, putting stuff together and the finishing touch to a couple of projects that have been kicking around the shop since Pontious was a Pilate .
One of my very best, 80 year old friends who lives in San Diego, scored a hole in one at his very "Nobby" golf club-----------the customary round of drinks cost him $500------- so they had a whip round for him. Counted it up when he got home, result, $1600 in his bin !
Thats the sort of club I should belong to .
Now George never got a trophy for his noble effort, so I decided I'd do him a very special one off.
I would say that was "A DUESEY" of a shot------ I just happen to have a 1934 Duesenberg La Salle--- a golf ball ------ and a hole, the basis for a half decent trophy I'd say.
Will post you a piccie tomorrow if it's a half tidy effort.

Lucas Oil has two of its six coats of red-------I will get a see through shine on the damn thing. Probably wind up getting it powder coated, but I will get a half decent finish somehow.

Be nice to have a comment from someone once in a while-----even Pilgrims gone dormant .

Turd in a punch bowl comes to mind, even Murph's pissed off with me. Might just hibernate to the workshop for the winter. Father Christmas stopped coming twenty years ago anyway!

Happy to see ya back at it....never thought about commenting. Thats what I do in the winter, hangout in the workshops and I almost forgot... Plow snow also and once in a while build a house! BTW Concepts are lookin as good as before your health issues so the "paw" must be working well.

Hey, you disappear off to Froggie Land slurping champagne and scoffing nouvelle cuisine while leaving us all in the lurch, then get all bent out of shape when it takes us a while to realise your not dead and just been enjoying yourself.
