Youthful memories-------Lancaster Bombers, American airmen, bike with no brakes, no sweets or ice cream, falling in love with the girl next door but one, getting whacked at school for squirting the girls with water from the drinking fountain, hating school so much, I worked hard and got a place at HALIFAX technical college! First motorbike ( 1938 650cc Triumph) -----First car, 1938 MG TC,
Fairly certain fire had been around for a while as I used to light ours every morning! And my first bike was a really old one with wheels ! But I am of the ope that you should continue taking the pills------have faith Rich, one day they could work!

Happy Birthday Jackie i can remember a young Jackie Wilson when you wore a indian hat that you walked around in at all the boat races black with a feather in it that brings back old memories for me i think Pruett may have given it to you.Just curious to know how much your first weeks wages were and how much that triumph motorcycle cost and the MG car.My first weeks wages were £2.6 shillings and 7 pence the first motorcycle was a fiver first car cost £15.I would be curious to know what all the other old drivers first means of transport cost such as TIIX or Seeroy or any body else that wants to tell` i do know Seeroy bought a triumph motorcycle with his race winnings from Mercury.

Gene, you started my day with a great laugh ..... it sure as hell is in New Mexico! Did you really remember that or did you have to look it up? Oh well, as Three Dog Night says:

Well I've never been to England
But I kind of like the Beatles
Well I headed for Las Vegas
Only made it out to Needles
..... what does it matter, what does it matter

Happy Birthday to the Old Curmudgeon!

Bill---when I got thrown out of South Florida in the early 80', I moved 'Out West'. Past 30+ years, I have probably flown into every little airport from Zamperini to Creede. Local knowledge?

It's super late--was abroad early-----had a ten minute "Powernap" but that was it.
    Had a monumental birthday lunch,

    1st course "coquille st Jacque"
    2nd. ". Mediterranean king prawn
3rd. ". Moules in ginger with lemon grass and single cream.
4th. ". Alaskan king crab claws with drawn butter
5th. ". Plain vanilla cheesecake with double cream, strawberries and ice cream

Finished with fresh ground Colombian coffee (I like mine with a kiss and fresh single cream and Bendicks chocolate mints)

bugger the calories and screw the cholesterol---its my 83rd birthday lunch.

Dogs are barking !!! ( feckin gout)

Did get out into the shop to finish the five pieces and tidy up------looked like there had been a minor nuclear explosion, snot and shavings everywhere.Click image for larger version.
