We used to hold one of the FONDA races in Dubai every year-------- Mark had a shop there for a number of years MEM. MIDDLE EAST MARINE. Got to know Randy Scism and Joe Scgro through the Victory Race Team.
Hodges was the designer/builder for Victory in those early days, they were running everything back then-------Mercury inboards and outboards-------Johnrudes-------believe they were running turbines as well.
I know Mark purchased the whole of the outboard side of the business when it closed down-----I think there were 10 V8's plus spare power heads--------gear cases, and all the praphanalea that went with it, it was a whole racing division of Victory Dubai !
Condolences to all the people involved at OUTER LIMITS -----specially Nigel Hook------he's been a stalwart of the brand forever.

Reason i I went down to "HOURGLASS" was to see if I could get some more of this laminated and bevelled 12 mm glass to mount some profile pieces on ------this ones a bit short for the wing-------not to worry, I got more coming-------but it does look the biz!

Knock on the workshop door 'parcel for Mr Jack Wilson' ------ funny, I haven't bought anything------please sign here Mr. Wilson--------- I'm not signing anything till I've opened it. Ok you open it then sign ---------what'd ya know it's a bottle of single malt. Ok now I'll sign------oh, bugger-----no signal, can't sign , tough titty, you're not having it back. It's taken me two years to get it. No note, no nothing----- but you and I know there's only one person who is ever going to send me a very expensive single malt. Thank you Johnno.

Thanks Bob-----if you told me step by step how to do that BEFORE I posted, I could become one of the three wise men!

Motning Pilgrim-------One of the original FONDA racers was a guy called SUGIHARA------ there were two Japanese drivers, ISHIKAWA was the other. Mark did a ton of business with SUGI (still does) -----he bought the majority of the V8s and all the spares, which ended up in Japan.
have an apology to make. Mark told me yesterday that I did not meet Joe Scrgo in the Middle East. He was a "Fountain" man through and through and I didn't meet him until much later--------sorry about that, I do remember him being a lovely man.
Its nice to have memories, even if I get some of them mixed up !
Jillies birthday today----leaned across the bed, gave her a kiss and thought about trading her in for a newer model---------then again it's such a frig training a bird to do what you want them to do--------plus she's a bloody good cook, and nurse, great body, legs that don't quit, boobs to die for, blonde, with intelligence, great looker (even with the lines) and I love her to bits, maybe I'll stick for now ?
Crazy accident down at Key West yesterday-------apparently boat lost an engine and decided to head back to the pits instead of the centre of the course-------guy behind was fooled by the action, ran completely over the top virtually slicing the boat in two with the tiller--------God was looking down favourably that day.
Gieco had a better day, winning the heat-------better than that , the boat looked good, fast, and ran nicely,,Stevie got the set up spot on, 'bout time they had a win, been a while since the last one-------points must be close------need a good run come Sunday.

I got an idea ---------I see something, like the idea of it---------looks very pretty and star warish-------much too artistic to ever be practical---------but the angles and the paint job make for a very nice desk piece!
Ill probably do a facsimile along those lines------- well, that was the idea, how far I get with it depends on "mitigating circumstances ".
Still have ambition------ it's the ability I'm lacking------next week should see whether it's binned and bollocked or a desirable Christmas present.?
Trouble is, I'm full of these daft ideas-- I got a shop full of them sitting on the shelf.
Looks a bit PUGHY .? What do you think Roger ?

Its far too pretty a box and too close to Christmas to open just yet--------- don't know if you ever saw "ICE COLD IN ALEX" Johnno? The bit where all four of them had crossed the Sahara just dreaming of a cold beer at a bar in Alexandria---------but first they watched the condensation running down the outside of the glass------savouring the moment So to speak--------I've waited two years for this, damned if I won't sit back, look at it and enjoy the moment---------before I finally taste it, thank you in anticipation Johnno.
