Isn't it great to have friends-----thanks Bob V for straightening up the phoggies, Rich for noticing the ice in the bubbly.
Tough to explain the make up of a perfect day, but Lanson and ice along the way is a big plus and certainly helps the medicine go down.
A day with family and two of my girls has a lot to do with it, add a nice boat and a sunny day, chuck em all in the mixer------give it a twirl-----there you have it , my version of a perfect day!

Thought long and hard about the big Raveau and the lump, then it hit me-----why not do an outrageous 800 ! SO I DID, oversize gear case ------big ole straight six-------with stripes, all polished alli,
Two things you have to understand in life---------if you want a perfect lawn-------take a stretch of grass, feed it, roll it, cut it regularly for 800 years and you can hope for a perfect lawn.
Now with wood, whether it's a piece of furniture or a model boat, time, wax polish and elbow grease is the only way to get "PATINA"-------- that's the see through look you only get with a lot of effort and dedication ------I do not profess to have these qualities.
Looked at the big Raveau and saw it needed a touch of TLC and another three or four cots of wax. That was yesterday. Today I'll do you a piccie.
Inbetween times I uncovered the big old Blown V8 that was nearly done and decided I ought to get that sent over to Roger H along with the Redbirds and the F2 Pughie and the COSWORTH and the Pratt and Whitney and the H1 and the ---------------------.
Too many to send over at one time, so if I split them up and send them in two parcels and take some in a suitcase, at least I can be sure some of the stuff will get there.
Got another Barbie this afternoon at my son in laws--------bunch of nice people will be there so we have to go------damn near bar b qued out.
Have to collect the Sunday papers for the crossword -----will get back to you!

Big Raveau with the Bigfoot 800 Merc concept.
2 and 3 are the big old agricultural V 8-----keep adding bits, ie transmission and blowers-----it will all come together eventually.
Really is time for me to finish off all the stuff that's cluttering up the shop.
went up to my son in laws for yet another Barbie ------was able to slide off after only three hours.

Last day of the holiday------makes no difference to me what day it is------need to make hay whether the sun shines or not.
Mounted the big old blown V8 on to a circular stand---------lost patience with it, somebody else can finish it------that's a first if you like !
Got fed up of cooking in the rain over a hot Barbie -------fitted some polycarbonate sheeting and now I'm in the dry, winter and summer, some days I can be a right clever sod.
Sad to hear of the two fatalities at the Lake of the Ozarks-------whenever this happens, people will call for heads to roll, the sport to be governed, legislation brought in, red tape to smother boats over 40 horse power. Fact is, wherever there are high speeds--------in the air, on the land, or in the water, high speed is hurt speed.
Lets see what next week brings------put it this way--------I got ambition and high hopes------well, it's a start !

Gene Wilder and Richard Prior------Abbot and Costello--------Laurel and Hardy------all were part of my life that I remember over the last eight decades, funnily enough, I don't ever remember any one of them using profanities to create laughter !
Now every time I see a comedy film, every actor is trying to see how many swear words he can get into each sentence.
Now God knows I'm not a prude, I can curse with the best of them, but there's a time and place for it, be a lot nicer if actors of today recognised the fact !
    Here endeth today's sermon.

Is it just my imagination that it seems more people are killed in poker runs than boat racing worldwide?
Is a poker run boat just a race boat with zero safety built in?

Theres a lot in what you say Pilgrim, in England, if you want to buy your boy a super boat capable of running 200 +, for his tenth birthday--------there is no law to say you can't --------how stupid is that?
On the other side of the coin, you have rules being created by the RYA, UIM, APBA, by people who do not have the foggiest idea what time of day it is.

You would think that Ken Warby would have some idea of what is required to attempt a WWS record, he's been hog tied for years by red tape and officials who are puffed up to the heavens in their own importance.

Problem here pilgrim is, most fast boat owners who never actually raced, generally think they could do it better than the racers anyway !

Never met a golfer yet who couldn't run both the club and the restaurant better than the owners!

Well now, there's a pretty kettle of fish---------Apple being taken to the cleaners for €13 BILLION for a bit of tax avoidance ---------but by who?
The case has been filed in Ireland ---------but not by the Irish government who want no part of it--------Apple employ some 7,000 people in Ireland where they have their European headquarters, so the canny old Irish are walking on eggshells.
Would you believe Apple paid just 0.005% in tax over the last decade-------slapped wrist, naughty boy you might think------wrong !!!!
BRUSSELS-------in the guise of the EU have decided to take on the biggest corporation in the USA and balance their books with a little back tax. Man, is this ever going to be a hell of a pissing contest. There's going to be a shed load of kicking and screaming
And the USA could not understand WHY we wanted out of the EU------maybe our colonial friends will get to understand over the ensuing weeks!
Don't you just love it when a plan comes together ?
