So, he retired , will never work again, he lived happily ever after---------------the village lost its local garage, where you could get a tyre changed, a hinge welded, a dent straightened, shoot the breeze, catch up on the gossip. Been like that for nigh on 100 years------not any more!
Why do i feel so sad?
Not all change is good. In our sleepy little town of Clearwater, Florida we had the High and Dry Marina off of the causeway going to the beach. It had been in business for over 40 years was the only High and Dry Marina we had. In it's day, it housed over 250 boats and you had to put your name on a waiting list to get in. It was so nice because you could call them and let them know what time you were going to arrive and they would have your boat in the water ready to go. If you were low on fuel, they would fuel it for you. About 10 years ago a developer with several investors in his pocket offered the marina's owner an exorbitant amount of money for the property with the intent to convert it to water front condos. That was the end of Clearwater's High and Dry Marina. Yes, not all change is good....

It's a harsh fact, Commerce and king cash seem to rule the roost these days---------community, caring, tradition and right will never win against hard cash Bob.
We can always blame it on "illegal immigrants" as we do for most of the things we don't agree with.
Goes under the heading of "PROGRESS"
Signed all the papers for our move into the bungalow------January 7th, her who shall be obeyed does not let the grass grow-----as the sign on the mouse's tee shirt says "FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET".
Got three quotes for the removal------next time round I'm coming back as a A removal man! I always said my next time round I would be a gangster, dentist, lawyer, vetenarian or a hooker-----that just changed !
Better get up and start packing the workshop up------time waits for no man, not even me!

Been a funny sort of day------can't seem to work up any enthusiasm for concepts. Spent most of the day creating and polishing a "LOOPER", its ticking over, as opposed to galloping down the home straight. Mind was wandering to an all metal version-------usually have a couple on the go at once, just concentrating on the one and making it the final project at this abode.
Then it's all hands on deck, creating a new shop and laying this one to rest.
Still on the helter shelter, but taking time outs on a more regular basis!

Nice surroundings can make even middling "concepts" look terrific Gene--------problem with looking at things you once really enjoyed is, you start dreaming of things that happened nearly fifty years ago. Puts me in mind of another old song I used to like----------WHERE DID THEY GO. ALL THE GOOD TIMES, THE FLOWERS AND THE WINE, THE YOUNG GIRLS THAT LOVED ME AND THE KISSES THAT WERE MINE ? If memory serves me right, it was sung by "BLUE MINK" with Madelaine Bell as the vocalist! -------Another piece of useless information!
Made a stonking mount for the Da Silva/Looper------again all highly polished.
Helping her majesty all day tomorrow--------apparently we only need one queen sized bed for guests , the bunk beds and the other king sized beds are all heading for the dump.
We only have grown ups staying overnight very occasionally-------kids don't stay here anymore.
Like I said before-------times, they are a changing!

Getting all 'cited now, to the point I'm not sleeping well--------too busy thinking, building the new benches, rewiring, new work tops, changing the odd MACHINE or two! It's going to be a --mare for a day or two, but I'll get there in the end, I usually do.
Dismantle, dump and destroy day today. I just close my mind to the carnage going on all around me and obey orders--------big changes in this neck of the woods-------out with the old and do as your told!
Got to thinking last night, I don't remember even having a conversation with Stavros and Iris, far too much going on in Tavares, I can remember him trying to get on to the sidewalk and me shoving him back, as friends do !
Did the car boot sale at Ford on Thursday------must be losing my touch, bought a new dictionary for a quid, but that was it.
Her majesty is out of the shower, my turn, the new day has begun.

It's all over but the crying------all the beds and mattresses dispatched to the dump-----the rate this place is emptying we will only need a horse and cart to take the few bits and bobs we have left !
Got the afternoon to get stuck into the very last concept created at wood end cottage.

ID:	362300That's as far as I got with the Da Silva/Looper concept-------started on the carb set up -------three pairs of intakes on a single manifold seems appropriate------if anyone thinks that's not the way to go, then speak up now, or forever hold thy peace !
Stuck two coats of beeswax on to the beautiful chunk of ash------still of the opi John Schubert should do the finishing .
Do I fart about with the topside or leave well alone------the mount covers a lot of evils, got a fin I could stitch underneath-------- where to stop?
Sign of a good concept er is when he knows when to call it a day ! I'm learning!!!

    Jackie,

I'll be glad to do it. Too bad the wax has been applied I'll have to remove it. I'll nee to know the color scheme as well.

Not me. One home is enough to keep up with. I just came in from patching my driveway. I have been to Tucson a number of times, My Dad's Bomb Group has a museum on the grounds of the Pima Air Museum. When the folks got so they couldn't travel alone I went to several reunions in Tucson.
