Goooooood morning peeps, it's one of those "to die for"sort of mornings, blue skies, wall to wall sunshine, chestnut trees are sporting candles, Tulips are just past their best-----lawn looks like a garden should-------green ,with stripes! After the rain it feels like everything is just bursting with life. MA nature is ready to show off again.
Jilly is due back today, bringing Matt for a few days, see if we can take his mind ofn things, may have to go walkabouts, not one of my favourites--------lets just play it by ear, and go with the flow.

Had a nice easy day in the workshop, made progress on the V8, did a drawing of the V6 Merc and a Stinger, actually did a gear case for the "Rude". Authenticity plus artists licence makes a " "concept" a whole lot easier-----trick is, to find a feature folk can relate to and build round it.
Here I go, rambling on again about nothing in particular------just telling you the "tricks this old retired boat racer gets up to"------it simply keeps my mind alert and delays senility and dementure and halts the arthritis for a while.
Turned down a trip to the casino last night, was my nieces birthday and the family had a night out and big eats in Bournemouth-----Jilly had left me crispy fried duck and pancakes with rice pudding and fresh cream so I didn't exactly starve. Watched the final episode of POLDARK then came to bed and read my Sydney Sheldon book,(wonder if he's any relation to R/J).

Settled into a steady rhythm, things were clicking along nicely when I spied R/J's Concept ROTORY, took one look at the gear case and decided it had to go, Johnno's an engineer, whereas I'm just a good bodger It now has a rather good gear case, will engrave some sort of .
tribute to the old chap and see about getting it packed and posted.
Was going to get it professionally engraved, but the cost was more than the. Bottle of scotch and anyway it's more " authentic" with my shaky scribble, I'll tell you when it's posted.Johno.

Gene - Didn't you have a Harley in S Fla? Seems like I remember you riding it wearing cowboy boots?? Those are the important things a child remembers. We used to visit your house in, was it Hollywood??? You flew Dad and Mark and I over the Marine Stadium one time. Was probably '74 or '75. I'm probably wrong about most of this, but that's the way I remember it! Ron

OK Gene, how 'bout you get out there astride the "QUACKER" , get someone to take a piccie and I will take the Norton for a spin-----we can confound all these young puppies.
Or, you could hire something hot at Tavares and I'll borrow Bill Bakers Harley, we could drag the strip in front of the hotel?
Lets start an annual over 80/s drag, to create a bit of interest!!!
Don't mind doing the trophies for it!

That's about the time they introduced the 1000 LTD. It sounded better than the Z1-R, had a "Harley" look to it but didn't leak oil all over the place. It was also faster than any HD out there, 134 on the speedo, so I bought one. I remember a couple of dudes in a "Six Pack Dart" or something similar messing with me on a highway. I slowed and took the left lane, we exchanged a few words and then hit it ..... they did an "exit, stage right" first chance they had.

Someone must have agreed with my assessment of that machine, third year I owned it, the bike was taken from my garage while I was at work. Had less than 3000 on it, looked brand new ..... bummer

I was, had hair that almost covered my ears! Was even invited to ride to a rock concert with the local H.D. Boys. Did that, was having a lot of fun until the bullets started flying (real bullets) .... rode home by myself!
