Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement

Well, the diamond trophy didn't light anyone's candle so not much point in taking it to Tavares, damn thing goes over a kilo anyway------will try and find some balsa wood and styrene, see what I can cobble together!!!
Got halfway through clearing the shop and saw the Schubert boats needed filler caps and a front screen, made a better job of the windscreen so I made another so they match up!
Then made four tie bars for the wings-----then saw that Rogers monster needed one, and filler caps, it just never ends, always room for improvement.
Mark landed yesterday but don't think I'll get to see him 'til Saturday at the Barbie at SAMs place.

Its Thursday again, so that means a trip to the car boot sale at Ford. Time to hustle.

Bought a Partner strimmer at the boot sale, almost new but the throttle trigger was bust, I made a big song and dance about it and ended up paying a tenner for it. Cobbled the throttle, cleaned the plug, drained the juice out of it , put new in , fired her up and it runs like a Swiss watch.
Also found two good as new blades for my spokeshaves, a dozen "Stubbs" files, a box of new 13 amp fuses and two tubes of gorilla super glue for a fiver.
Was quite chuffed with the visit!

Been a quiet sort of day, did a bit, not a lot, only did an hour in the shop, I could get used to this sort of life!

Really must knuckle down and forget everything else and make sure I get the shop cleaned up, Mark is calling in on his way to Southampton----his shop is always immaculate, with painted floors and tiled walls. Even the prop rooms have extractor fans and A/C. I have a quart in a pint pot with not enough room to swing the proverbial kitty!

See the FBI are trying to clean up FIFA, well good luck with that one, Al Capone was Snow White compared to that tosser-----he's been corrupting football for fifteen years and is hated by everyone decent, but it's odds on he'll still be there cocking a snoot at the world long after the FBI have gone home. Brazen Blatter's his name.
Dont really like soccer much anymore -----too much money going to too many Primma Donnas who fall down if anyone gets within ten feet. I'll stick to boat racers, it's where men are men and women are women and still proud of it!

Somebody somewhere upset him upstairs big time . He decided he was going to take a record all time leak that pleased all the gardeners , but really pissed off everyone else.
Mark got a stomach bug that meant he had to visit the bog on a half hourly basis, poor bugger, nothing worse than the "Squits" when your on vacation.
Workshop is back to pristine, just got the six golf trophies well on the way, will put the piccies on the "OFF 2015" site, reckon y'all had a bellyful of my meanderings golf wise .

I know i said I wouldn't bore you with the golf trophy piccies , but I got stuck in the shop as it chucked it down all day, I suffered, now it's only fair you have to! Get over it!
Swelling in the hands went down a bit by mid afternoon, may have to curb the concepts and take up line dancing or Sinatra impersonations----cheese making or train for the geriatric Olympics in slow walking.

Not even the FBI could nail Blatter , told you he's smarter than Ecclestone and controls more cash than the Vegas Casinos combined, bent as an eleven sided threepenny bit ?
Who else could get a World Cup in 110 degrees in the middle of the desert ? Blatter did.
Who else would be brazen enough to give Putin the World Cup ? Blatter did.
Wonder how many billions it took to get elected again as president of FIFA.
Call in MI5 and Bond, but make it look like an accident James. ,!!

We got SAMs birthday bash and Barbie with a band, big eats and hog roast at 7:30------- band kicks off at 9:30 'till the early hours of Sunday morning, bacon sandwiches at midnight, then the birthday celebrations begin.
I got the date wrong again, sent her all the greetings and a card and a text and an email, got told I was two days early---------some you win -------some you don't . Life's like that!

See what transpires during the day, not many of you commenting this week, I know I just changed my after shave to "EAU SAVAGE" From "ATAEUS" but they're both CHANEL so I still smell like I got roses up the rectum.

WHAT's tax--------Who's Blatter ?--------He claims he's only being investigated because England and the USA did not get the World Cup, why would a semi civilised country be considered when he can deliver to a dusty desert and the steppes of Siberia and bank a billion to boot. It looks like it's going to be a bright beautiful day with no rain forecast until 10 o'clock tonight, 30 minutes after the band starts playing at SAMs birthday-bash, I shall be on my way home by then, when Sam gets pissed off its not a pretty sight!

watched a brilliant documentary last night on Jaguars making Six lightweight E Type Racecars at over two million dollars apiece for only "Selected" customers. Well worth a cursory glance.

Was Sam and Clive's 20th wedding anniversary as well as her 49th birthday (and she's my youngest). bash was held in her back yard.
Sam gave Clive a Rolex Daytona for the occasion, ( I got a carton of Camels for mine). Still it's coming round again, this time to Jilly, haven't smoked for thirty years, but I might get a "Ticka-Tocka -Timex" if I'm very lucky.

Good pics Jackie! Glad that the rains subsided over there long enough for the get together to not get washed away. Here south of Houston I am so tired of the rains that I am actually looking forward to when it's over 100f and not a cloud in sight! Per my rain gauge in the back yard we've had over 10 inches just this month.
