The MC-1 was the heavy duty SSM. Much larger. I hope you find some info. Would be interesting to see a parts breakdown.

Never seen an illustrated parts list for the MC-1 ... or any Twister, T-1 or T-2

Since these were never made for the public, all there probably ever was would be a typed list as we have seen for the T-2. Wouldn't matter, I'm sure every piece is NLA except for the common nuts and bolts.

Other than the size of the parts, I would doubt there is any significant difference in the structure or service procedure than the smaller regular SSM.

things noticed to date comparing the -1 to a normal SSM.....
water pump housing, base and plates larger and a different shape. MC-1 does not have the valves, only a single output cavity from t he pump to the powerhead. Guess they were never run Bassackwards??

Twin gears under the pump are NOT helical cut, but straight cut gears. Same arrangement up front for the nose cone, just larger in size. Same tools to remove the central mounting stud. Gaskets definitely NLA, but making fresh copies from the old ones.

Will be pulling the prop shaft out in a week or so and matching up seals. Same O ring arrangement under the pump base, but o ring may be larger. taking lots of pics.

SOMBITCH is definitely heavier than SSM as well.

so anyone ever rebuild and re-torque the front nut on the prop shaft bearing on one of these units? wondering what the torque spec might be. Bigger shaft and nut than the Standard SSM.

    Help please?

The torque for the SBP gear case is 70 ft.lbs. with a couple drops of locktite A , this is a 1-1/16" nut . The MC-1 will probably be between the SSM and the SBP ,depending on the nut size should get you in the ballpark.

I also have one of these units. It would be nice to have source for after market for replacement seals if even available.
