Parker, You certainly ought to try. The obvious problem will be getting the APBA staff to approve the hull for use at the vintage event. Currently, the Vintage bylaws don't allow cells and/or canopies. Nemo ran the bat-boat with the canopy removed. The next stumbling block will be the harness. No one should be in a reinforced cockpit or cell without wearing a harness. I'm assuming this will be a judgment made by the referee and inspector at the event. The rescue crews are harness / cell trained.
We will have THREE Switzer wings there and we'd like to have riders in the "other" seat. Another judgement call for the officials.

***** Note: ANYONE riding in a boat MUST attend the driver's meeting the day of the ride (if approved) and have approved driver's clothing (long sleeves, pants, closed toe shoes), life jacket (A100 rated), and helmet. ****** No compromises here.

Exhibition runs are a bit different - not during heats.

My thoughts on the subject - not official by any shake of the stick. Hope to see you there.....with a boat!

Roger My boat has 5 point harnesses, both driver and passenger, I can remove both Canopys , , my boat does not have a roll over switch ? Don't know if that matters? It does have a kill switch, that attaches to me , I have my capsule suit and bell helmet...
just a thought , thought it would be neat but if it raises a bunch of red flags , I won't bring it.
Let me know what you think , thanks

been to 4 offs missed last year want 1 or two laps with maltese magnum marauder 16

OK YOU GUYS as in years gone by OFF IS ON..............

SO I made 4 of these in the last 5 years just because...just because of what???
no need to explain ...or...you missed it....just because............................. like my father in law said
running the wet noodle reveau with twin 1000,s back in 63'

MY OLD....45 YEAR OLD V BOTTOM IS READY not cosmetically but at speed...it runs just so damn great...straight no porposing ,... and corners like a 67 corvette which is what I think Aranow patterned the dash from the twin humps..
...they say only 20 made...i know of 4-5 of them around the country...but can the ......OFF orginization the guys let me make a lap??? not side by side with reveaus or checkmates or some antique speed boat....unless thats the rules.

so spell out the rules...for an old bayrunner....and I think they might be join the club for 1 meet, , have inspection, have current safety gear like in date racing jacket and who knows what............ all i can offer is just a pass or two to see look listen and enjoy that old damn donzi....no its not. a donzi.......its a magnum marauder v bottom not the tunnell missle... that has hurt some people .

no golf just for the day in the pits and at the ramp.... nothing crazy just a cool old boat stretching it out..and hanging out with my aged speedssters....boat and personna

not gonna come if i cant run!!!!.

Parker, You don't need a roll-over...just the kill switch. The only other problem is that ALL classes of Vintage require a A100 rated life jacket. The true capsule jacket does not have the ballistic material like the A100 because it is to be used in a cell.
I certainly don't mind you testing the waters with this boat. Vintage needs to address this sooner or later. I've been pushing for updates for the outboards for over two years now. I'd like to see you bring the boat and be ready to display it if they won't approve it for in water use. We can always find a A100 jacket for you to use. Just remember..this is not a race...it is more about running together, having fun, and putting on a good show....safely
