    300xs open exhaust? raise compression?

    has anyone run a 300xs with a mad efi mid with open snout like on a 2.5 offshore mid? Also have not read any post on cutting dfi cyl heads. I see post where people cut the 3.0 efi o-ring heads. any reason it is not being done on the dfi motors?

    Opening the exhaust is no issue but it will need to be mapped if you want to add some more squeeze.

    I am thinking the motor will have idle issues and may have dead spot coming off idle. I guess if a certain someone on here would work a little faster. we will know how it affects it.

    what about the dfi head cutting? has anyone tried raising compression 20lbs or so and get any gains?

    i know on my HPDI yamaha the heads were cut. and i ran 135psi where a stocker would be 115 to118

    the Manuel shows 100 to 110psi as being good. I know of a few 2013 motors that have 140 to 145psi. my 2007 300xs has had 110 since I bought the boat with 27 hrs. both my 2013 motors have 140. I just swapped my 07 motor yesterday with one of my 13 motors. I am curious if the 30psi will make any more speed. it does not sound any different on the hose. I am sure my 07 motor is not wore out. pretty slim chance since it had 110 at 27hrs and now with about 100 hrs it still has exactly 110psi on all six.

    Im curious about that as well.Are there different numbers on the 2013 heads then on the 07 heads?I have a 07 as well,it has a DBR 1.1 kit but ive always wondered what a few more psi would do?I was told there may be issues with the air injectors.

    Just my 2cents when I got my 300xs one of the first ones I put it on my 15inch mad efi mid and it was a pig out of the hole and pyros where quite high to.
    They run very lean id want to add fuel b4 cutting heads.
