Thanks Dave, It is a process that I have said we are in no hurry about and never will be. As I had just stated we are ready to make some pretty hard pulls, but all safety crews need to be in position. Eagle Camp that was in now way directed to you. What Have liked always about drag boats is most everyone sticks together. If you are going to play at the top, It takes everyone. Thanks Again, Rick George

Setting boat top speed records has the potential to end real bad. The babby steps aproach that this team is using is the correct approach. Good luck to all involved.

one thing is for sure there has only been a handful of out rigger outboards and none with 600 hp
and tuning this boat will be much harder then the other boat
but once they get it dialed in it should be a good competition between the two boats
i wish good wishes for both teams and cant wait
chaz did mr knox call ya

Sorry guys if I sidetracked this thread - none of it was ever meant to be negative towards Rick's incredible build, or that crazy guy that loves to poke me with a stick Chaz (Charlie). I know that probably nobody on here believes me, but I had several phone conversations with Dan Ellison about building me one of these rigs five years ago to do exactly what Rick is doing now - I'm absolutely behind his effort and want nothing more than for him to succeed. Yes, I've been know to be a little too blunt for internet standards, and of course I'm going to be a little biased towards my buddies out here, but I seriously look at all of you as my friends. We're a very small community of screwed-up individuals that like to go really fast across the water, and I've only met a handful over the many years I've been doing this that I really didn't like. So let's get this thread back on track and look forward to more updates and pictures/video/audio of Rick's badass rig!

So I just watched the video on Motys FB page. She REALLY moves her ass around when getting off the throttle. Is that the nature of a hydro? If so, does it get worse as speeds increase?

If you watch the Top Fuel boats from overhead setting back into the water they do the same thing. They have enough launch off the line to not show it there, and we may have enough also but just not trying for that at this point. I personaly feel it is caused by the front sponsons trying to take there set once they find it and plant and the tail blows she is ready. Much like driving through the porpoise area in other boats. Thanks Guys , Have a Great Weekend

Thanks for showing the world this project. It is a rare opportunity to see a legitimate attempt at a world record before it is proven. The trials and tribulations of a project of this mangnatude under the scrutiny of the public is brave, but a big breath of fresh air. Thanks for showing us.

Maybe a set of outrigger sponson pods for the rear for stability ?
I understand you have a set in the rear, different sizes ...
But I'm talking about a form of outriggers also , it should help with the twisting torque at the HIT also keep the rear up, then add stability for shut down...

I Agree with RBT 100%, It takes a lot to allow everyone to see the ups and downs of a project like this. Just my humble opinion but maybe a Sprag clutch in the drive shaft might be in order, if the motor locks up at 200 ?, Dave

apples n prunes... drives/600 vs, 8000+ hp, 20,000+ prop rpm... what they are doin' has NERVER been tried with that type non-liftin' hull so its a very big process that very few would undertake.....
