    And that is huge.

Very few attempt a project of this magnitude, even fewer crews stick together when it gets tough, and even fewer have the patience (among other things) to see it through.

Add to that, doing what no one has ever done (outrigger O/B drag/record boat) before and most fall by the wayside.

    Well done guys.
Keep at it and you'll get there.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

Augusta Georgia Southern Nationals in July !

Full IHBA safety crew, state of the art Timing, ET, and Speed equipment. GIANT digital display "scoreboard"

Always excellent water. (unless we have a massive thunderstorm). The River race track is really protected and sheltered. Absolutely a perfect place for some safe testing.

The only problem is the viewing public... they normally have unrealistic expectations that it should run a 200 mph pass 1st run. Not going to happen. A project with lofty (but obtainable) goals, such as this one, with almost everything an unknown, will not produce spectacular results overnight.

I believe that it can produce spectacular results, but there are many problems to solve along the way. It will take some time, and lots of effort, problem solving skills and patience,..........but thats why you pursue something like that. The education is priceless, but expensive.

If you just want to go for a boat ride, and look cool with NO EFFORT, I suggest Boat Trader.com

That would be a lie....After Gordon touches an engine for more than 20 minutes, usually the only thing left ' stock" is a few head bolt washers. I've seen this motor up close and personal...STOCK does not describe it all.

You dont have tell anyone anything...just show up, pay your entry fee in any applicable class, make a few passes, collect data, make adjustments. On Friday, you can make as many passes as fast as you can get on and off the boat ramp, with no penalty for red lights, break outs, etc. Sat u qualify, Sunday you race.

Great race site, great organization, great turn out.

Like Wally says Augusta is the place. Jon and I didn't have our **** togther when we went there 10 years ago. It took 4 runs to go 7.52 156 mph. It's been a long time since anybody tried to reset the record but you guy's need to go for it. I can't say I want you to reset it but I am happy somebody is trying.

I see the mid is a stocker with adapter not the custom one.
I dropped a v8 powerhead gasket on a f1 mid the other day and not much lines up so there is some work in that.
