Took it to Markey's Marine (in Keys) had a coil out and changes the impellers.. still got one motor running hot (at least that's what my gauge is telling me) I am thinking about putting in the Vessel View 4 .. So i will have accurate readout of water temp and pressure, not to mention the fuel burn ect...

Anyone using the Vessel View 4 or 7 ?

Wish i had room for a 7, found one on craigslist guy said he would take $1200 but looks like i only have room for the 4.

here's an update of the past weekend.. Wanted to test the boat, Bonding time with my Dad. Ran from founders Park down to Port Antigua (sand Bar). Then to Islamorada fish Company for lunch.. Fried Alligator!!!! Appetizer sooooo good... along with some blackened dolphin sandwiches, and conch. Then to the Tiki Bar (sand Bar) and hung out for a while. It was a nice day out.. boat ran strong.

    Justin,
All you need is a smartcraft multi engine gateway and feed the data to the garmin. If the gauges you have are smartcraft the data will be the same as the vessel view. No difference in the readings. Are you running a mechanical water pressure gauge? How many psi? If you choose to run the vessel view 7 with a gps antenna it is a chartplotter also. It would fit in place of the Garmin 8" display you have. They are built by Simrad and it is the same model as the NSS7.
My buddy has one on his velocity.

    Hey what's up Ron
Thanks for your input, I was contemplating going with the multi engine gateway, but I decided to go with the Vesselview 4. It to acts as a gateway and can be linked with my NMEA2000 backbone and feed the data to my Garmin. The multi engine gateway alone would have cost $400 and some change. So i would rather have the additional Vesselview 4 to play with. I like the Garmin when i'm running at speeds to show me where the shallow water is. I know the 7 has the built in chart plotter but i am not familiar with it.

So the VesselView 4 is on the way.

My water pressure is not really the issue i am getting 4psi when idling, 15-24 psi when running wide open. I am concerned with my water temp. one motor is reading like 190 the other i can't seem to get a gauge to work on. sent my gauge back twice already and still does not read right (now pegged all the way down). I am going to change the sender next. But i like the fact that i will be able to get accurate info with the VesselView.

190 seems a little high. Mine run around 135 degrees unless I go below 10psi. Are you gauges smartcraft or analog? If smartcraft do not change sender until you get vessel view and see what it is reading.
Planning on going down to Key Largo Saturday for the day weather permitting.

I have Analog gauges and no warning beeps going off. I don't know if the re-map would effect the warning beeps. Keys should be nice.. Wish I could go down this weekend, but I have some other stuff I gotta take care of.

With all that pressure and no alarm I would be sitting on the transom with the cowls off at 50mph pointing an infrared temp gun at the heads

I run analog guages in all my boats. If the actual motor temp hits 175, the warning horn will still go off. If it's not, then you should be fine. Gotta be the guage. Run a jumper from the wire going to the bad guage to the other one and see what it reads.

I ended up Getting the Vessel View 4, which can monitor both engiens, so i can get a true readout on everything.
I really like the fact that i will be able to monitor water temp, pressure, fuel burn ect...
I have it installed but still waiting on mercury to send me the right cables to hook it up, they sent me out the wrong wiring twice already.
