Heard Dave Dreifort (deznuts) ran 127 this weekend. On gps and radar. Only fare to give an ATTABOY!! to Dave for putting up a big number as well

Hot Shot that is a common thing for Dez to go over 120 with a promax, but for Monte to go over 125 with a new style e-tec that would make him the fastest on the planet for a recreation type boat maybe he should write a letter to BRP and tell them the progress he has made with a emission motor,he sure can make a omc go fast...

They don't care.
BRP's other stuff is bad ass. Too bad they won't apply it to the O/B's. Back to the corporate challenge of justifying the cost w/a next to nothing market.
I've said forever they need to write it off as marketing. Think how much attention they would attract w/full page ad's of Montys boat at warp speed. Or displays (w/videos) on the boat show circuit.
Look at the following Merc has created by doing that.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Im impressed no matter what the engine but obviously a huge number for an etec. Just wanted to give a shout to Dave too for running a number that morning. I do know Gordon too. Met him years ago. Great guy and always friendly to talk too. Always have been a fan of Monty Racing.
Yes I know Dave very well. Have been boating with him for many years. Dave has actualy owned 3 of my past boats and has taken all of them over 125. Two Lightning STV copys and one of my Quartershot T3's.Rob Lankford

Saturday morning at the hotel I was told dave went 123, always fun playing telephone
BRP is well aware of what Gordon is capable of. About 4 years ago Gordon sent them a motor to show them how to make a real 300hp 3.4 instead of the 280 they actually make.Last edited by baja200merk; 11-28-2013 at 11:47 AM.

This is the ideal time for brp to start getting in to the performance and racing area as the motors are being run with good results as stock in Europe at uim events. Like bikes and cars. Outboard sales are helped with racing results. I'm sure thats how Merc would have got their crown for years.
