1980 Comp Viking - New Photo Album
I wanted to share the few pics I have so far of my newest toy. I bought the hull from Levi Ledet here on S & F. It's the first comp Viking I ever saw in person and the most well preserved of any unrestored Hydrostream I have had the chance to get eyeball-to-eyeball with. I will power it with a Merc 2.5 carb motor on a 15" mid with a Sportmaster. I don't have a lot of pics yet but you can see what I've got so far below, and I will add more pics to my profile photo album as things progress. Here are some pics my friend Texas Vector took right after I brought it home, and a pic of the motor:

Hey Levi how's it going? It should be pretty quick, that's a good motor I'm putting on there.
TexasVector and I have got the main wiring done, and I have started gathering the pieces to finish everything up.
Going to restore the trailer completely - LED lights, new wheels, diamond plate running boards and paint. I will leave the hull and cap original since they are still looking great. Going to repaint the interior, maybe a dark pearlescent aquamarine, and install white inline seats. I will also lower the front seat mounting board by about 4 or 5 inches. The battery is going up under the deck and the gas tank under the splash well. I'm gonna hang the motor right on the transom and try it without any setback. It's amazing how smooth the old original ride guide steering is, so it's going to stay.

Pete, my buddy Chris picked the ass end of it up off the trailer the other day. He said it felt very light and he's well acquainted with hydrostream hulls, mostly comp vectors. Mine is also the first comp Viking he's ever seen

Thats a nice boat. I drooled over it before Levi got it. My old racing bud had one just like yours back in the 80`s. Same color even. The good thing about a comp HydroStream is there is no core to rot. I think you have a good idea about no set back. That boat should not need any.

That's one awesome rig! Can't wait to run along side you guys, soon! Hopefully weather soon will be improving, and we can start burning some gallons. Scott
