22' stoker video (and opinion)
Alright all you Stoker guys. Here is a video of the back of the boat. Can anyone tell me if the boat is running right boat wise not engine. No jack plate, SRX 29" DAH labbed with a little cup but not much (confirmed with prop shop) , 6300 RPM's and 79.4 on the GPS. You can hear right at the end of the video the increase in RPM's. when that happens the trim gauge (if correct) is two needle widths above 1/2. Basically the boat drops the bow and looses speed. I can slow down a tad, bump the trim down let off the gas and it'll hook back up and carry the bow better. This video was shot with just me in the boat and 40 gallons of gas. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

The small skeg on the v8 case is not helping anything but do you have a torque tab on it?
In this video it doesnt look like it has a tab but its hard to see.

Also the 29srx is 14-1/4" diameter so they do not like higher engine heights. My chopper II 30p was 14.5 and it was 8mph faster then my SRX at the same rpm and engine height with 2x more bowlift.

Where is the propshaft centerline in relation to the bottom of the boat? Looks kinda low to me.
Have you checked the motor mounts to make sure everything is good there? A bit of movement, even when you rap the throttle.Keith-

Level the propshaft with the bottom of the boat and use a straight edge to come off the last foot or so of the center sponson and see where the center of the propshaft is in relation to that.

They really do. This one runs great too. Starts very easily usually on the first or second try, no idle issues even with the idle holes plugged, no hesitations anywhere in throttle applications just runs really really well. It is a testament to how well Mr. Stoker builds his engines. I know he has built a ton of them in his life but not that many make it to the east coast so I feel really fortunate to have one of his hot rods especially since I had no idea what I was getting nor did I go searching for one of his boats.
Funny how I ended up with it. A friend of mine who loves to spend my money on toys called me one day. He tells me there is a boat beside the road in a little town called Ridgeway, SC (population 313) and that I "needed" to come look at it. Now keep in mind I wasn't looking for a boat in general and I surely didn't know anything about a Stoker nor a Stoker built Evinrude V8. It was 2-3 weeks before I had time to sneak up there and take a look at it. When I did my first thought was, she'll kill me. I wish I had taken a picture of the surroundings. Picture a farm in red clay country then picture a farmers shop surrounded by old grain trucks, new fairly large John Deere tractors and other farm implements and you'll have the setting. Needless to say the Stoker was definitely out of place. In the big scheme of things it was almost a barn find due to the limited audience in this area. We have a really small community of hot boat enthusiasts, albeit an intense group, but nothing remotely close to the West coast crowd. Anyway we worked out the details and I brought it home. On the way home I sent my wife this picture with a note that said "I can't seem to shake this boat off of my ass. If it follows me home I think we'll keep it" and the rest is history. We have really enjoyed it and have met some very nice people we wouldn't have if we "hadn't of kept her".

A torque tab goes on the skeg not the one on the cavitation plate.
We weld on the front of the skeg and profile them like a sporty or lightning case. This helps the case stay strait in the water reduces slip and helps handling.
The stock case (tiny omc skeg) im running on the boat now will lose bite with any positive trim then it tries to blow out and thats on a much lighter boat that does not need any trim!
you got three things against you.
small skeg
no torque tab
small diameter (doesnt carry well once trimmed)
good skeg
crap/scary skeg
