    That is WAY low IMO. Our Stoker race boat is mandated to be 1" below the bottom (rules in our class) to slow us down. We have tested and even as little as 3/8" up from there was 4mph. You need to come way up from where you are. You may need to consider a low water pickup gearcase to do that though...like adding a Bob's nosecone or similar so that you can still get water pressure with the motor jacked up.

    When you come up, you will probably need a 14.5" diameter prop, like a Mazco or Merc Quicksilver chopper.

    Measured the trim tabs and they were a quarter inch down from level!!! Adjusted them to neutral and picked up 3 mph with the 24" Bravo 1. If that runs true with the 29" SRX that'll put me close to 84/85 from 79.4. I'll be checking that prop tomorrow. I will say its a little greasier with the tabs neutral. It also held a lot more positive trim with a neutral setting but still runs fastest just a few bumps higher than 1/2 way on the gauge.
