The Yamaha through hub 27 runs good on these boats for fishing.I had a round ear spinnilli that ran well..The lighting ET ran the best on my boat lite..ran 86 with a 175 yamaha

I've been wanting to try an ET. I heard ya get the best of both worlds chopper and cleaver -bow and stern lift rolled up into one. I just have ta wait for one at the right price though.

Mercs run good even w/pad,Mine love's a 27 and a 29 DAH worked SRX,I know Brents black shadow,ran 88 steady,with an 'ol 2.4 225,mine has ran low 90's with strong bridgeports,but usually upper 80's and the mota' isn't tryin' to come apart,,If it ever quits snowing up here and warms up in SC,my red boat is going to Evangelist for hull blueprinting and a transom/knee inspection,I just plunked a few $k,down at my machine shop this week,to have a fresh 2.5 w/280 electrics and a simon box.,built,just bought an Alien cowl for it,and having a fat shaft sporty built,definitely switching to a bob's hyd. plate,,

I'm looking for a Yammie HPDI, or a Merc 2.5 that needs rebuilt if ya know someone who has one. My first choice is the Yammie but I'd love to get into another 2.5 or 2.4 bridgeport. It's been years.

That would be r sauger, he split his wide open, he did his transom all the way across, similar to how Evangelist builds 'em,i don't need a transom, i just want Brent to put stouter knee's in mine and blueprint the hull, i'll have an evangelist up here in the spring, don't mean i can't keep a shadow and a varmint . Lol , i have 2 good complete bport's f/sale, only need a sleeve, running 135psi, dropped #4 to 90psi, and i got her b4 she grenaded.

I think with that setup i'd start that 27 at 2.5 below full load and go up, loaded w/livewells full the 2.4 struggles a tad to holeshot,but once she's up that thing accelerates like a banshee, right to redline,great prop, make sure you have the OMC washer and thin nut. John at DAH has a kit for merc small shaft.

Tournament load and in cold weather , i run a mazco re4 26 chopper, that runs mad dog, out the hole up to 6800 and it's done,but great handlin',,i have an address,that may still have oem windshields, if yer purty red boat needs one

I wouldn't mind having that address for the windshields. I just put an aftermarket one on mine cuz I couldn't find one and got tired of my eyes watering at speed.

onemoretime mine has a holeshot problem too. However I just vented my hull notch in hopes it will unstick me. I haven't had the chance to run her yet since I completed this mod though. When I do I'll let ya know if it helps.

Yes let us know to because i am considering doing that to mine. I have a way to try mine and need too because i pop out of the water pretty quick but it takes a bit for the prop to bite then Im off to the races.
