The dealer I used to work for back in the day used to sell BB's. I got to rig a few of em. They were the first tournament class boat I got a really good look at, and the boat that got me hooked on bassers. I never could afford one of the Bee's but my first basser was a customer's trade in on one, -a very green metalflake Glastron 17' 6" V hull I ended up putting a Johnson 175 on. Boat was heavy and w/o jackplate would barely do 60 but I was 19 with my 1st basser and on top of the world.

I wouldn't mind finding an older Bee for a project boat.

The 180V Bumble Bee hull was VERY similar to a 20' Bullet and the 2100 Bumble Bee was VERY similar to the 21' Bullet. Both of these Bees would run pretty good. I have found my old videos, I just have to find a VCR that still works and see if I can copy them to post. I forgot that I also have video of the Bumble Bee.

I would like to see just for nostalgic reasons if possible. I know though sometimes getting older VCR tapes converted into a format to post can be difficult.

This just made it sound like you was goin' fishin' which we both know neither one would run like that with any of tha "junk" in it. That's what I thought anyway...............

No problem tlwjkw. Even with boat stripped down I still had guys with Rangers, Bass Cats, Skeeters, etc who thought they were running 85mph who would come and jump on me. After they started to fuss about no trolling motor, batteries, etc. I finally took an old OMC troller I had and gutted all the magnets, armature, and steering and mounted it on the boat. I got my Interstate battery rep to get me two empty trolling motor battery cases and strapped them in the trays. Now I had a true "fishin" boat.

They're out there still today! But nowdays they're runin' inta tha 90's + !!! I know ya can make "any" of 'em run but a gutted 2 liter really isn't to happy with weight (like most hot rods)..............But then again you can make a brick fly with enough horse power. ie: F4 ............Later

I always thought they looked similar but wasn't sure. I ran into a 21' Bullet driven by a visiting pro angler last time at the dock on Duval. It was powered by a 250 Opti and man it was a sweet ride. Boat was immaculate -not a scratch on it. Trailer too. It was one of the yellow-ish trimmed ones. Trailer was yellow too & he pulled it with a wrapped (advertisements) van. He and a buddy pulled up to the dock as I was getting ready to launch around 1 pm or so.

Here are the videos. I apoligize for the quality as I used my phone to video the TV screen. The sound is real low for some reason so you will have to turn your speakers way up. I also apoligize for the mullet that I should have cut by this time.

    Thanks

Right on man! Your video of the Bee brought back memories. I could see the radar gun in the stroker video clear as well. I noticed a little chine walk there with the stroker on the one pass. Powered right through it though.

I've still got this darn trim gauge issue with mine. I started a thread on it in the appropriate area a month ago but no one answered it, frustrating. anyway thanks again for the video's!

Either I got a bad gauge, or my sending unit's bad, or I'm still hooking it up wrong. Mine has a setup similar to the one in the attached photo below; a dual relay unit as depicted in this 1987 t & t wiring diagram (mine's an 86 -couldn't find one for that year). What's wierd is the two wires coming off my sender are both black, as I believe they are in this diagram, however I cannot find a black & tan wire anywhere to hook to the "S" post on the gauge. so which one do I use? I tried following the wire on mine to the same position as the one in this diagram but when hooked up no matter where the motor is, it says it's all the way down/trimmed negative.

I'm beginning to think it's either that or my sending unit is bad. My sending unit looks like new though, and the gauge itself is new so I'm about at my whits end with this thing!
