Thats some mean stuff. Never thought to try it on carbon.

I dont bother cleaning carbon off pistons. No cleaner makes the pins stay where they belong so they all go in the round file.

might as well leave it on the cyl head and some coking in the exhaust really helps low end

No really all used pistons go to scrap yard with carbon on them it weighs more

Lacquer thinner works hard & cheap if you want to spray out exhaust etc!! The ChemDip can overnight is hard to beat in my experience on carbonized parts

With the engine tuner/power tune, I'll take the boat out in the middle of the bay or ocean, run it hard, spray in the engine tuner/power tune then stall it, pull the plugs and soak it...... drift fish for half an hour or so, then fire it up and run the piss out of it again....... does a super job with all that heat............. most people do it just at idle on the hose, but the engine won't get hot enough to do what the product does best with heat.

I pull off my Racor filter and fill it with Seafoam then run the boat hard.
For soaking parts though, nothing I have tried works except the Chemi Dip.

The Yamaha fuel additive works excellent. I ran it in my corvette from the time it was new, took it to Lingenfelter to have the supercharger upgrade put on it at 17,000 miles. They called me when they pulled the motor apart and wanted to know when the engine had been replaced. I asked him what he was talking about and he said the motor looked like the ones that come directly to them from dealers with zero miles (absolutely spotless)-I then realized that it was the fuel additive. They were very impressed. Carbon coated pistons are good for a 5 h.p. loss in a 280 (info. given to me from Brendon).

Chit works better if you let it soak a while, I've let some sit overnite, works great. Short of manual removal nothing better.

Just be careful when spraying that stuff into the cylinders through a spark plug hole. Those red straws can be a real PITA.

Well I got an idea that solved the decades ago. SIMPLE do a 5 inch masking tape the straw wrapped around the ."straw" for a "hook". It blows off, it aint going far. I have here a 50 foot roll here paid $2,95.
