    Your not supposed to use the filter wrench to install the filter.

    Ya know, a clamp will work just FINE! Damn, same as that damn bolt that corroded in, can't get to it, and twice the clamping force! And easy to take off! I had a I/O, and only thing not replaced was the stater. as if went south? Well sold it before I had too! "Car motors do NOT belong in a boat"

    Dave he's talking off. Filter wrenches should never been invented, IF the idiot putting it on did not grease/oil the seal. and like I do spin it on, snug a few times, back off and simple "SNUG IT UP finger tight"! Never a prob any my filter change. And the filter now with hot oil will expand and seal easy.

    Yep put it on with a wrench, hand tight with a nice dab of oil way to go I am screwed going to have to pull the engine so maybe a bbc instead of sbc

    My adventure today was getting a 69 4hp running, did the green carb. Still didn't have any power or want to idle. Then I rembered those old ones have points, now it runs as good as one lunger can.
