My dang throttle cable broke on my chevy truck while travelling in the middle of nowhere fl. All I had was some 24oz roving glass in the truck since I was a mobile glass guy. Took a strand from the roving and ran it thru the firewall and tied it to the holley, made a loop for my hand in the cab. It was a challenge since it was a stick shift, but I got home. Ah, those were the daze...

Tunnels says rovin glass is so old school and useless. You should be ashamed of your self

My wife and daughter were driving in heavy rain when the wipers quit some yrs ago. They took their laces off their sneakers and tied them together,to the wipers and thru the windows. My daughter pulled the wipers back and forth with the laces as my wife drove about 100 miles home. The linkage had popped off the mota under the cowl. Gary

Saw this yesterday. Mercury didn't drill a hole in the crank for the cotter pin so the nut loosened flywheel took out the stator

Looks like a v4 evinrude prop nut!

Chalk one up for the ladies in the redneck engineering dept! Good to hear us guys are not the only ones with no functional fixedness hangups. (fancy term for get-r-done)...

This one just came in. She said her boat always has some sort of new damage every year when it comes out of storage. This was the last straw, we are doing all of her service work now.
