Me and the Mrs were at a popular tiki bar where it's common to share tables when it's busy. We had just finished a fun back and forth w/a visiting New Yorker when we got a table to ourselves (either 6 or 8 chairs).
I went to the head and came back to find a group of 4 had made themselves at home at "our" table.
The Mrs knew what was about to happen and didn't let on.
I sit down and w/a straight face look at them and say, "let me guess, you ****kers are from new York". Not sure who laughed hardest when they all admit that they were in fact from NY.
It got a bit blurry after that but am pretty sure we all had a good timeI'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

I absolutely love all the info in this thread. I think I have an 04 DI 225ho available arou d the corner from me...I have my 225 opti and 250xs powerhead coming...but I had a long talk with Frank Jackson on FBC and think my next step is doing a 3.3 build...
I am not port savvy, but would love to do the easier stuff myself...but even after reading all this stuff..the piston height, rod length (rod length has unfortunately never been my stong point lol)
Essentially Im willing to invest a chunk into the build. I wanna see triple digits in my voyager..but with a blue or white motor and im not painting the 250xs..lol
Not trying to hijack...but curious what kinda power can I get from a build similar to this one. What kind of hp is attainable in a reliable lake motor? I wanna keep it within reason financially but not afraid to invest in the best parts and experienced wrenches to make sure it is properly done. I absolutely am not in the same league as Instigator, Racer etc on here lol but I'd love to learnTook me a year to figure out how to change the signature...guessing im kinda e-retarded

Goal is mid/high 60's w/zero maintenance
Yes, it is the Stratos. The prefect river boat for us.
We've been down here for 8 yrs and still had the most fun in the 13' Whaler. Whats wrong w/that picture?I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

67 with the stock 175hp intruder. 74 with 225hp vindicator. 88 with 300xs on first outing with the mercury on a choppy day. I am thinking Gary's motor is good for at least 82. I did not throw Gary on a scale. but he does look a few lbs lighter than I am.
get back with me on the quartershot with no title. I think motorhead is working with a out of town buyer.
