Was going to let her spin up today but never got on plane. The throttle linkage problem bit me again. This time it popped the roller right off the end of the shaft and i couldnt find it until I got home and dug around.
With both throttle return springs on this is what happens. I thought it was he shaft bending but its actually the plastic ramp twisting. This time it must have hung up on the roller and popped it right off the end of the ramp. The roller is fairly new and none of the parts appear to be worn. The ramp/cam just flexes. Im going to order a new cam and roller and see what happens. Maybe his one has just gotten soft???
If I remove the spring off the bottom carb it works okay but wont settle into a nice idle. I think theres enough vacuum that it holds the plates open just a little.

If I push it any further than that, the ramp slips inside the roller then when I let off, pops the roller off the shaft and bends the shaft in the process.
If the new ramp does the same I may make a backing plate to stiffen it. I just dont understand why its doing this since all these parts are actually stock.13' Biel tunnel AKA "Flight Risk"

Part of the problem is that I am running my base timing at 10 degree BTDC vs stock which I think was 5 ATDC. When the cam starts to move forward the roller hits that V and gets stuck because the roller is still traveling up and the cam wants to start pushing i down. Adding the piece of hose to the roller and playing with the lengths of the linkage has helped and adding the aluminum backing plate stiffened up the cam so it all works nice and smooth now.

nice mod on that ramp. I hope it holds good. I like that piece of hose on the roller, I thought I was the only one who did stuff like that.. LOL would love to see you bust that 100 mph mark.
