Activator 22...First April test run today Peconic Bay, LI, NY...

Had some time so took a ride and checked out the Great Peconic bay.
Decided to not be short on gas since I might be about the only one out there so carried approx 35-40 gal fuel (55-58gal. cap.)

I had the hull bottom blue printed over the winter and added a Hydraulic jack (Bob's) jack plate, so anxious for a clear test day. At 5:30 pm Weather was low 60's, winds had died down to almost nothing, wave heights... well nil to none! Not getting any wind, wave (this boat style performs best in the chop) or current help today.

Time went fast but I had a great 33.6 miles. Today I Ran A Yamaha T1 29 prop like on James Cole 21' Challenger.... it performed quite well. The 84 number should be a good everyday number now, no longer just a top speed one.

Winter is officially OVER up North....

Boat seemed to fly truer and act lighter on it's feet. Before I would have had a harder time reaching 84 with that much fuel on board and not much wave height to help air me out. Boat will run faster when I'm in 1' chop so I could have picked up 2 mph but I should give the Hydraulic jack plate at least 1 mph too!

Your boat looks great Doc. Hope we all have a great season. Did you keep those channels in your pad or did they get removed with the blueprint? Who do you insure your rig with? I guess its time to get some on mine.

Thanks Whipper, much time and monies have gone into updating this boat of course, but I thought the winter was over for Canada since James Cole is boating already ! The Yami has been a very reliable and good performer for me, no complaints.

Thank you Mike, I can't wait to do more boating again with you and all the other SOB boys. I left the 'water ramp channels' on the pad. I could run between 1 3/4"-2" above the pad yesterday and still have 6-8 lbs water pressure with 12' setback, no pad notch and water pickups still only on front sides of stock HPDI cone. No lower water pick-up mod.

I have Allstate insurance actually, not expensive and they proved fast on a claim once already... got to watch for those trees and logs.

Hope you have your rig finished up soon so you can hit the water!

Me too. Got my first run of the year in this past Saturday, seems to be running good but no where near the mph you all are going but respectable for a family bowrider. Got one more prop to try coming this week and with some luck I'll have a new interior by the time we go to the romp..

Instead of redoing my bunk carpets, I went for Bunk sliders made by Venture trailer co.. Since my bunks are angled some on top I found they fit much better then the flatter and non-mold able styles more commonly found. Thanks to Vnemous for the tip about them.
You can see it was time....
