Update, about to order the final(hopefully) order of glass and resin to get this hull done. After working with the 17oz biaxial, I have decided to step down to a 10 oz biaxial in hopes of being easier to work with.. I have really enjoyed this project so far, I know it has been slow going I apologize for that. I would like to say thank you to all the guys who had patience with my questions and those who gave their two cents. The guys who took time to explain how and why, I say thank you again! I did finally get a running motor for the boat, a 1986 150 mariner 2.0 which has put a fire under my a** for motivation... I want to get her done for spring/summer 2015 really bad. After this stretch of glass work, I plan to hook the "setback plate" and motor on the back. But not in the configuration I posted in a picture. I want to flip the rear bracket to reduce setback to nearly 1 or 2 inches max(reducing setback as much as possible).. Any tips for mounting a motor straight are greatly appreciated. I want to do center steer, and I am thinking sea star hydraulic is a good setup. I am open to opinions about that, it will be a spring time decision... Glad to be a part of the scream and fly community.. Lots of cool dudes here

Im not understanding what you meen about " flipping the plate" to make less setback.
Is that plate adnustable at all for height?

the plate does hav a few holes for height adjustment. It is 4 pieces, L brackets... If I flip the rear sections I should be able to drill new holes and get the setback greatly reduced with no cost... think of it like bobs 2.5/5in jackplate where you can flip the sections to change the setback
