1987 xr2 150 only built for one year?

I can't really see where mercury's xr2 150 mag was made but for only one year, Does someone know why or maybe show me proof of those motors built before or after 1987

Over your head and to the boat ramp I guess , cause we are still talking about mercury's xr history , the outboard motors that beat out all competition and
Pushed mercury racing away from Brunswick inc. To get the motors back on top

This one's over my head, don't know how we got from an 87 XR2 outboard to a 97 jetski motor

Oranges , Apples . That 175 powerhead on a prop lower would be called a 200.
