    STV euro with Short-Shaft engine?

Just wondered if it was possible to use a Mercury 260 SS on a STV euro, without having to cut down the transom?
    Best regards

    Hi Gary,

Yes i've seen those. But i was hoping to avoid the extra weight and setback. So it's not possible to hook a short-shaft engine onto the 20" transom, because then the engine would be too high even at the lowest level?
    Best regards

We tried the one Gary refered to and while it did allow for installation, the boat didn't like it. I should also state it was on a River Rocket and not a Euro which could make a difference cuz I am using a similar plate on my Allison with a 15" motor and it does fine.

it is my understanding that these boats were made for a 20" transom. cutting the transom or hydrodynamics jackplate are the only 15' options as far as i know.

I think it was a 10" Allison plate I cut on and reconfigured to work. With dual cable there were some clearance issues at full lock but it now has hydraulic and works perfect.
