Hull design and 3D CAD modeling
As I mentioned in my other thread, I am very interested in high performance boat design. Since I bought my boat and have been saving up for parts, I have been playing around with some design work in my spare time. This is a 17ft v-hull I've been working on for a little while. I started out plugging random dimensions and numbers into the Tunnel Boat Design Program, and made changes/tweaked it until I got good (as far as I'm concerned) performance predictions. Then I drew it in Rhino3d to see what it would look like if built. Target hull weight is 450lb (wood), and from the program's outputs, it will have a top speed over 100mph with reasonable (not a drag boat but looks good to me) acceleration too, with a 200hp outboard. Please excuse the watermarks in some of the pictures, I used a trial version of Flamingo nxt for the rendering, as I can't afford to purchase the whole program right now. Hope you guys like it.
