little flash from the past, if you listen you can hear Duff Daily is up front or challenging, he ran a hull w/ a hemi and was feared by most. the miami marine stadium was the formost venue for any type of circle racing, (and by the way where I cut my teeth), just look at the crowd they could atttract, what a shame it's just going to waste. any way here's an old clip

nice one I just spotted, with special thanks to Jim Wilkes, the MAN that sold the "Silverwing" molds to the new owner and inboard editor to Hot Boat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjpZCZRI0M4 notice the age of these boats, many are older than the model

That was from Parker over Thanksgiving 2012. Looking at their video, looks like he was running about a 43 second lap. We ran the COR boats on the same course that weekend and I was running a lap time of about 50 seconds. They are fast, but a true Mod VP (not running a 2.0l motor 1" below the bottom) would spank them given what I've seen here.

thats interesting considering the "run what you brung" races here once upon a time the GN's could put it on the factory tunnels that merc sent here, rough water may have had something to do with it, but that was what I saw. seems the tunnels of that era, mid to late 70's would have been a bit faster than a 2 liter set as you guys have to run, the name "Earl Bentz" comes to mind and he was one of Karl's 3 Knights, and a bunch of other tunnels, Earl was running a T-3 or maby a T-4. Im not doughting you, because your there and I'm not. fun out respectfully

thinking about it today as i ran combat missions in city traffic totin 44000 lbs of cargo as fast as I could go I thought, this guy was not at the front. the last GN race I saw was at Key Largo at American Outdoors campground, the GN race was dominated buy a GN owned by Ben Borden fuel injected that broke down half way through and got revived after the pack was half way around the track ahed and got her fired up and blasted ass around and "STOMPED" the rest of the fleet. not all GN's are created equal. I think if you look, that dudes getting passed a bit.

I got whupped by a Sanger Hydro two weeks ago. 427 Chev, high rise intake, pair of big carbs, high rise open exhaust, pretty cool looking.
We ran into boat wakes and I backed off at 75ish, already well behind. He kept going and I was impressed how he handled wakes.
SS2000, 225PM, 26 Trophy, 3 men on board. One big guy in the Sanger, but I bet his boat is less weight sensitive.
How fast would a Sanger Hydro be with a healthy BBC?

Hey raceman
I remember way back at Lake Buhlow in early 80`s Wayne had just been to an NOA event with "Southern Comfort" the week before and didn`t figure on anybody really fast showing up so he didn`t change his large bore NOA carbs and got beat by a guy with a Daytona on juice. He told me that he had screwed up and tomorrow would be a differant story. That night he changed carbs to a set of six small bore 85hp models more suited for drag racing. It was no contest. He damn near half tracked the dude. I was always impressed with What Wayne would do and would have tradded places with him in a second. Not so much now.
