7th Annual Illinois River Run

Well here it is folks, the highly anticipated thread enabling us to all come together one sunny day in Central Il. Well, it could be rainy as shown during the 4th River Run when all the Hydrostream guys showed up. Go figure, rains on the day that the guys show up with boats that can't get wet....

We'll hope for water (that allows use of our ramp) and for a good turn out. Last year was pretty much regulars to this run but ended up being a Mini Alli Rally.

It's a simple concept, we show up at a ramp, run 16 miles down river to Rock's glorious cabin. Once we get down river we almost instantly start beach racing, cussing big John and his washing machines, wonder where the kid is with the blown I6, wonder if Bill is going to flip, telling lies, watching Rock's "high class" neighbors, pissing off the Army Corps guys that are unsticking a barge and most importantly buzzing past the beach. Eating is simple too, Rock provides BAG (Big Ass Grill) and you throw your meat of choice on it. Notice I didn't say veggie burgers... this is not a vegan party so plan to be made fun of if you bring some crap like that. Also, please feel free to bring a dish to pass and BYOB (some water on hand).

This is a beautiful stretch of water for you guys that have not been here. Jeff (BuzzinDozen) calls this the Autobahn of rivers. There is very little traffic down this way and most of it is jon boats and little glass boats. No worries of huge cabin cruisers making HUGE wakes.

Preliminary date is being thrown out of June 29nd and the meeting spot is Pekin boat ramp in Pekin, IL. Google search 50 Court St, Pekin IL for a map.

First of all the 15th isn't gonna work for me. The wife is going to be out of town so we may as well move it to the 22nd of June. I have purchased a gas tank that will hold 180 gallons. We will take orders and I will bring that much gas.

I think I'm ok wih the 29th. If anyone coming in from out of town wants to ride around Friday afternoon I'm game. We'll boat the Peoria side of the dam Friday and go up to the beach.
