Video of twin 7 Marine 557's running on a 38 Fountain CC
Taken from post on THT.
"Just rode the 38 Fountain with twin 7's at the Miami Show......video coming later. Hooked up much better than last year, cruised around 40-60. Only took it to 60mph.....but at only 4200rpm's she had plenty left. The exhaust sound is now adjustable since people complained it was too quiet. So now the owner can adjust the exhaust baffles to be quiet or loud. Eric the VP of 7 Marine was very gracious and answered all questions. Said they only been at this for 3 years and have made great progress in the last year.
video added to this first post......gets up on plane from idle at around 1:55. More than 7 minutes of running time on iphone.....are the complainers still going to complain the motor doesnt exist or run?....of course they will."13' Biel tunnel AKA "Flight Risk"

They sound like a combination of a gear whine and V-8.Sounds good to me.
Industry rumor is they went from 20pc lots to 50pc lots the middle of last year.L.T.

They actually have a better horsepower to weight ratio than any of the other big motors. Not something that will go on an STV but twins replace triples and triples replace quads. I would love to see some medium to big offshore sport boats powered with them. A good sized cat would probably float them well.

American creativity at it's finest.
Love it!I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Cool stuff. Lot of gear whine though. I wonder how reliable they'll be in the rough stuff?

Most of the whine you're hearing is the tranny, same sound an inboard skiboat makes. The gearcase itself doesn't shift...
