[Backfire]

Valcourt, Québec, November 12, 2012 – It is with a heavy heart that BRP confirms that one of its employees, Sébastien Tardif, a 38-year-old father of two, has died from the injuries he sustained during the explosion that occurred at its R&D facility in Valcourt on Friday, November 9.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time," said Vincent Morin, vice-president, Product Development, Can-Am.

The second person injured in the incident, a security guard, is still in intensive care at the burn unit of the Enfant-Jésus de Québec hospital.

The BRP employee was a dynamometer operator. He was working the night shift at the R&D Centre when the explosion occurred. The investigation is still under way with the proper authorities to determine the causes of the incident. The R&D Centre remains closed while this investigation progresses, however, manufacturing operations were not affected.
This is a few months old, but interest item to those that had not heard of it. Backfire
