No, the dark rectangle in each water pressure gage. Why are there 2 water pressure gages?

Could be, but with general mechanical fuel pump reliability, I would surely not recommend the added complexity or potential for failure. Would you?

So we have a big mystery to solve now.

Hi Brian, sorry about the Canadian / American glitch...... This is a picture of the boat you ran in SA back then? It sure looks like it. Absolutely gorgeous. I remember being on the banks of the Vaal river at the Riviera Aquatic club and suddenly there was this wonderful sound of fast mercs . The Twin Molinari and your Miles flying in formation. youguys did a fly by and then stopped in for scrutineering, and then promtly left and raced back up the river. I remeber that Gordon Langham Love bought or drove the Molinari after you guys left the country but could not get it to run well again. I'm sad to say that I never saw the boat again.

The South African importer of OMC productss at the time were known as Pier 39. The race in question ( where the rotary ran) was at a club on the Vaal river called Loch Vaal. I can't remember now if that twin Moli was driven by Dick Summerfelt or Gordon Langham Love. One thing is for sure, the rotary clubbed the field. and I will put my thingys on a block and say that both Sanders and Jimbo raced that day.

i had a gear case pressure gauge on the Cosworth ----ran about the 7 mark but it was way after the time of those pics, like 1978/9.

i think that was 1965. But Rich could tell you the year by the Merc cowls, they look 1966 to me.
Lost the prop shaft in the first race, Cees Velden ran me all over France and Italy trying to find a replacement. I had sold the boat by then, but the owner let me run it in the series.
