Pretty surprised that there has not been one comment on the new Sutphen 21 SOB. Sutphen has been around for decades and Rich Sutphen Jr recently moved his operations down to Florida from the Northeast. There was talk of rigging there new 21 SOB with a 300XS but I'm not sure if they did that or put an E-Tec 300 on it. I thought I heard that they sold a few of the Sutphens to buyers in Canada.

I was talking to the Dok tonight.... And we were discussing how when the yanks see the tuff in person.... Finally you guys will go.... "Oh...... "

I like how it has come out that your beloved Bernico weighs 550lbs. My Triad probably weighs close to 900lbs and would run faster with a stock 280 than 103.

    The Tuff is king!

P.S. is "yanks" offensive? I don't mean it to be.... But if it is... I'll change it. lol. Cheers!

I had the chance to spend a few hours with Morgan and a Sutphen a fee years ago, I think its more of a competitor to the 22 Donzi/20 Cig market than Linder hulls. Much different animal, massive boat in comparison too

According to the factory guy that was at the Toronto show last year the Sutphen has a plywood core. I found that a bit odd....maybe the guy didn't know or doesn't know what was meant by core...

Yeah they do, a lot of the offshore stuff is built that way. Bullet Proof but heavy. Sutphens are known for being wave crushers, they go through not over. I have a lot of time in 26-34s and they are awesome, 20 is no exception but way different from a Linder hull. Challengers dont go through, they go over the top

Ah yes Mitchell, I was "hiding" the weight of the Bernico 21 this entire time from you. You caught me red handed. Did you not see my sincere apology? As the facts become clear, they get posted, no more, no less. That way everyone gets some real information. I kind of like being called a Yank. And I certainly like the Tuff.

Did you ride in the new Sutphen 21 or happen to drive it? I heard they had a 21 with a 496 they were doing demos with at some point in the past.

It's a fact George Linder gave us the best design of the time in a 21'. Had he stayed in the business and able to test more design changes, it's quite possible the original Challenger might have evolved into the same present "tuff" design.

    Food for thought.
