Since when does Kevin put a notch in the P22 bottom? Is it only an I/O thing? And the pictures I was trying to quote / copy from page 15 of this thread didn't show up.
I thought there were a lot of Progression P22 guys on the site, but no one seems to be saying anything as far as speeds or hull design. The OB version of the P22 does not have a notch. The correct picture of the P22's bottom is back on page 15 of this thread as well as below. Variable deadrise hull design.

IMPO!!! Mark has taken a GREAT GL timeless design made some awesome improvements in the design, in the materials used and his current building technology! I think I'm repeating myself from some 30 pages ago
What I have also found is simple, some people just can not see passed their nose, can not understand today's technology and are stuck in tunnel vision.
Now as per speeds, I can care less 50,60,100,120,150mph etc. All I care about is what my rig will do and what 150mph rig got put back on the trailer
Like I mentioned in a prior post, the driver makes a huge difference! To me driver and setup is key to success

BTW, Like I also mentioned before, I sure hope that the original poster along with some others have read and are reading through all the provide info which I think most has been very informative so they make a real educated decision.

PS; Time will tell what Tux is up to....

todays technology compared to what exactly? Those crappy old 21s built here on Long Island 20-30 years ago by "mexicans in unheated shacks" still going strong? I KNOW what you are trying to say but somethings seemed to be pretty damm good the way they were.

In 1986 there weren't any Mexicans working for superBoat , just bobby and Jeff which means there must of been a lot of weed.
joeys 21 was a light weight boat that yes is faster then me
but It has no more motor on it . Dirks boat was sold however was just as fast as mine
and the new owner I don't think can drive it the way dirk could.

What year did Joe Imprescia from East Coast Marine run his special purpose "light layup" 21 Superboat to greater then 97MPH? Wasn't it like 5 or 10 years ago?

I took it off Progression's site but perhaps the picture they have is not an accurate reflection of the P22. Or maybe they changed the bottom of the P22 as years went by so that newer P22's were faster then P22's built in the 90's decade.

I thought there were more of us too. Mine's a 1992 - rumored to be the next one out of the mold after the famous Powerboat Magazine cover boat - and I don't have a notched transom. But, since the picture shows an I/O hull and you're somewhat limited to how high you can mount the drive without having the engine sit on top of the sun pad, maybe Kevin notches them. Other than the notch, the picture is exactly what the variable deadrise hull design looks like on a P22.

Just to touch on your 1 and 2 spots.... The new Tuff I believe ran 102mph with a passenger, stock merc xs... AND a full interior. The Bernico that ran was likely a raceboat, with just a driver, and the discussion on the motor is key... (mystery 2.5 merc.).

Some of the anlgles look nicer than others... It's a very unique boat.

take it down a notch Tony, I am a pot stirrer? Where?

You are the one saying I cannot see what is right in front of my face about these new materials ( optional I might add ), but yet we have tried and proven boats around us that have stood the test of time.
That was my point, no need to get yourself all worked up, you think I insulted your intelligence but you calling me a "biggest pot stirrer" is just downright insulting never mind that I cannot see what is front of my face.

We are having a conversation here in this thread you seem to be the only one who for some strange reason is taking things so personal. Chill out a bit.
