That boat at the time was not propped and set up for top speed, bought the Progression before I did that.

think his whole point was how can a boat 150lbs lighter claim so much more speed, which might have been reduced with more set up on your end.

you want a competition the 2 lightened supers are out there already- benders and venemous but nether will ever see a 300x or XS on the back of it. 2 "ancient" materails boats built in a shop "with no heat", mat woven mat, no infusion, but have between 150-200 lbs taken out of them. Now lets see what would happen, modern materials dont give you speed they hopefully give you longevity but again I ask where are the supers with transoms flying off them and the bottoms peeling off?

Heading back to the top speed discussion we fall into the same problem. Does un-useable top speed really matter? Most of these hulls can get their best speed with 10inch+ of set back, single person, 6 gallons of fuel and a cold, calm morning? If a guy sees 90mph once when the moons align does that really matter if they normally run 84mph every other time under real conditions?

I have met many people that claim high numbers and when you hope in for a ride, the boat does 7-8mph slower. If someone is claim a 100 mph boat then it should be able to do 100mph, not 92mph.

The new white tuff does 102mph with a passenger. period. It runs a ballast tank that can be filled to balance the boat for rough water. It trully is the best of both worlds . It really is THAT simple.
We all have met idiots who claim nonsense speeds... And nobody hates that more than Mitchie(trust me on that one). But these are real numbers.

You don't think it pisses me off that the boat is the same speed as my triad but can run big water...... It kills me inside.

That new white tuff is very impressive then. Is that a stock 300xs?

Hoser runs 95 all day long with a 1986 21 superboat gaining 7 mph with a 27 year newer boat using modern material doesnt sound impossible.

The motor is stock I believe... My understanding though is that they are looking at the DBR stuff.

I realize my Checkmate isn't the popular choice here when it comes to a fast 21' sob, but I've managed 92.4 with it. Full interior, 250xb, heavy, 8.0 beam Pulsare. Coming from 17-18' boats, These bigger boats can be fun!

Yea GM 250 how fast is your boat anyway? Lot of smack being thrown around. My boat keeps up and i have about 5 minutes of setup into my boat and a motor i scraped off the floor of Ghost 28's garage (no need for god to setup your boat). I just wont beat on my stuff to the point of breaking it to keep up and i know Mikeylarge wont either because when **** breaks we are the ones fixing it and wrenching on the motor and id rather take it a little easier and enjoy it than be working on it all the time lol

My boat ran 77 with a bone stock 225 carbed 3.0. I have had higher(82 mph) with the new motor but i havent played with props because my boat runs nice, its enjoyable, gets decent fuel mileage and its reliable.

I believe any of the boats listed can be setup to run good numbers up top.

This thread is hurting feelings. So I will fill in what we should all agree on.

We all know that set up is very, very important. As is the water you run in.. But here goes.

    - Fastest known 21 SOB is Herb's red Intimidator.
    - The best built/strongest/balls out amazing (aaand very close in speed)... (but pricey..): Tuff and Progression
    - The originators.. And still very relevant. Perhaps a touch slower than the others: Challenger and Shadow
    - Very fast and light... But a little slower than the newer gen boats, : Superboat.
    - Bernico's and the other european one shown are impractical, fast, wave crushing raceboats and maybe to some people lack the sex appeall that the others do.
    - The in the works 23 foot allison Grand Sport: The second coming.

I think I pretty well summed it up.
