Doc, I think it's just that the Pro max is a faster prop on my boat than the Pro ET which I ran 95 with. The Pro ET was also an older style which had a thinner hub. and maybe thinner blades than the new ones? I've found that the newer Pro ET's don't run as good at all.
But don't get me wrong the engine is running great and strong, and I know my weight sure is not hurting me lol.
Also thanks for the video you always do a great job.

If Checkmate brought back the 23 Convincor O/B as a new offering, they would have a wave crusher on there hands that was fast as well.

On a related note, can you buy a "new" 2100 Pulsare today? I'm assuming that Hustler has built several over the last couple of years since The List was started but at the same time I have not seen Wildman do any new ones. I think the last one he did was the deeper V 24' model but I'm not sure.
Checkmate is still building boats out of their original factory in Bucyrus Ohio. You can buy a brand new Checkmate Pulsare 2100 or 2400 in bowrider or closed deck. They also still build the twin engine 28' OBX based on the Convincor Hull; http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...fsrPEIwU_Rv3pA

I own one of the few remaining original series of the 2800SX Outboard that was raced through the mid 80's. Waterheater, Ocean Outboard, Ashland Express, Wild Bill's Express all raced 2800SX Outboards competitively! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQUePDhRI30

One of the single biggest things I like about the Pulsare 2100 is the fact that it has a useful "playpen area" underneath on the long deck model. All the other builders squander that space. I also don't buy the "it would add too much weight" counterpoint. With today's materials and lightweight carpet it's a great way to create storage space in boats that don't really have any so you can also throw the family in when you want to and all there crap. If that costs me 75lbs and 1mph I'm in all day long.
Progression also has the so called play pen area,my 22 had full bunk cushions up front and still ran 94

Interesting. Is that standard for all the Progression 22's built or is it an option? Either way it's a smart use of space for the new boats and doesn't cost speed. All the builders should do it.

Question to you guys. What is the difference between a "Starflight" 21 and a "Pulsare" 2100? Is the freeboard or beam different between the two?

Two entirely different hulls. The Starflite has a shallower deadrise and a "V" pad bottom with a very small step in the hull bottom. The Pulsare has a 19 degree deadrise and a flat pad bottom. The Pulsare has higher freeboard and more room in the playpen but the Starflite has a bigger and wider cockpit.
