I was researching this a while back and someone posted pics of a 260 plate and a promax one piece and they were different in the water dump.

I still want to know if i can modify my one piece to work well with a poppet. From looking at them i think I can.

I have modified a 260 and a 2.4 1 piece by adding the popet valve passage and drillng a large hole to allow popet valve to dump out into the exhaust housing.Worked great. Cheers. Steve

Good info Steve. A couple of guys in the UK have also done the same and as I recall also had good results.

Others will know better but if you go to the parts catalog it looks like the early Promax 225 (when they came out around 1995) offered both a 15" and a 20" but only a 2 piece plate. Then, the "later" models offer both a 1 piece and a 2 piece plate option. Both run stats and poppet. Then, in the same "later" Promax area in the parts reader, they show an entirely separate print out for the Promax 225 "Offshore" which is below. Then, when the X replacement came starting in 2002 I have seen that there were both one piece plates and two piece plates offered and BOTH ran stats and a poppet. Go figure.........

    Steve,

Been thinking about doing this. I have a 2.4 BP adapter. Can i use this with the 2.5 block? The water canals are a bit different versus the 2.5 i have seen.

    Thanks
