Just recently switched from a 25" 3.0 Merc 225 Opti, w/ dual pickup lower to a 20" Merc 2.4 carb. w/ CLE lower. When I switched it over I dropped it around 3 to 3.5" from where it was w/ the 25" shaft. Running a 26 bullet cut chopper and it takes of and runs pretty well (turning it right @ around 5600-5800). Just don't have any bow lift. Has good water pressure, just wondering if I need to continue dropping it or maybe raise it? Whats a good starting point to get this thing set up right?Just recently switched from a 25" 3.0 Merc 225 Opti, w/ dual pickup lower to a 20" Merc 2.4 carb. w/ CLE lower.
