Did mercury made the 280 hp in 1993 ?

Hi, can somebody tell me if mercury made the 2.5 os 280 hp in 1993 ? Somebody want to sell me a 2.5 lt and he said that this engine have 280 hp. I am not sure, I was thinking about 260 hp ?
The serial number of the engine is OD181101, where can I find a service manual for this engine ?

    Thank you,

    Martin

I think the old manuals that came with the 260 said 260 hp, and 280 at the prop shaft. I have seen guys make this mistake before. Prolly the case.

Erik and Roy are both correct. That serial number comes up as a 1993 260.
