They are built to your size and have core supports placed inside for strength and baffles. The coating that Doug uses has never failed in the ten years that he has been using it. I don't know the correct name of the product but you can actually use it to laminate with and its a two part epoxy. The stuff has been used to line 100% alcohol storage containers. Doug vacuums a support beam the length of the running surface then puts cross supports with a 4 inch flange down on the running surface between the tunnel and outside to support the tanks. They get placed to line up where the core supports are on the inside the tanks so that it is solid and there is epoxy paste applied before they are set. Then they are glassed to the tunnel. It makes the boat even more stiff after these are installed.
I don't want to quote a price for Doug as it will very with size. Randy (Wildman) and I had ours built at the same time. They are very, very strong and stout.

That is the correct spelling and I guess the company that sells it.
We where giving the info from Containment Solutions who fabricate the glass tanks and something they tested extensively. This was many years ago so it is very possible they have developed some other products. This stuff did work and worked well!

Just reinforce the cavity and put in some alum tanks. Prob solved. Not part of the design that was implemented originally, but will work for an easy fix. Lot of boat co's use integrated tanks for various reasons, they can be made to work reliably. Here is ashlands guide...

I wouldn't do these tanks any other way then what I did if I was to be put back in the that position (once is enough) and it made the boat a lot stronger at the same time. As for the hassle, there is nothing out there that will perform equal for the same money (even with tank cost included).

vinyl-ester resin was invented 50 years ago for the chemical industry to be impervious to the chemicals they used....

I'm glad as hell my boat isn't a vinyl-ester resin boat. My tanks were shot, a little elbow grease and $1200 never have to worry about them again. Small beans in the grand scheme of things. Not sure about the 24's, but the used 28's from the 90's have appreciated in value over the last 6 years and will continue to doing so....Not bad for junk boats according to some keyboard experts.

Just curious, why would you be glad your boats not vinylester?
