I think i have to move to Florida, where the sun is shining. In about 10-12 weeks it is getting minus degrees here ( celsius ).
My favorite song is with Thomas Ledin : Sommaren e kort, det mesta regna bort......
I live to close to Sinsen krysset.

Boat finally back from the paint shop:

Picture taken down the transom with the lens resting on it, straight as it gets:

    Then I started drilling:

It's an awkward feeling to drill holes in a boat, way more to drill this many:

Freshly powder coated bracket to meet fresh gel:

    Bracket made it on:

The Jackplates and trim tabs made it on too:

here is where it ended for today. I also got dehydrated and had to call in. I will continue the process but at a little bit slower rate than the last two days. Looking good and its feeling better though...

    Killer!
W/doing my Sonic project I know how long and challenging a project like this is. To finally see progress, and light at the end of the tunnel........, is the best motivator in the world.
Not sure if I'm more excited to see video or hear audio of your completed beauty
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Working too hard at it for the last two days in way too high heat, I decided today was a good day to prep some small things in the garage. Since Mr. Goode at Machine Marine (or the other way around) thinks my steering system is way unsafe, will fail, refused to sell me parts, and that I will sue him, I had to make my own bolts and parts, so I did. Also finished up some loose ends here and there and laid out everything for tomorrows rigging and continuation of the build. Hopefully Monty calls and says my powerheads are ready and I can head over there to pick them up as well. Life is good.....<img id="ums_img_tooltip" class="UMSRatingIcon">

What is your plan on prop shaft heights? I would think the center prop shaft on a V bottom would need to be lower than the outer prop shafts.

Do the studs in the steering mean there are powerheads under there?

Looks great! Motors seem low to me might be the pic though.

It's the picture. I had to lift the front of the trailer 5' in the air to get the jack plate low enough to mount the middle motor. Right now they are set so that the water will hit 3" above the shaft and I can lift them another 4" if need be. Also heard from Monty today and the last powerhead is on his bench being worked on. Life is good.

FYI, I have found when playing with the jackplates that my boat gets better mileage with the drives down deep than up higher. At 1" up from the bottom of the plates, they are burning ~48GPH between the two, at 4500rpm running 50mph. Just over 1mpg (about 1.05-1.08). As I go up on the plates, the rpm goes up and top speed goes up, but mileage goes down as slip comes up. This is with Bravo 1 26's and 1.87:1 Merc CLE's.

Hmmm, very interesting numbers Keith. I will definitely write those down and see how that compares to the triple vs twins and the deuces vs treys articles I have. If all this data I have in theory and real life comes out remotely close to my interpretation of the facts, I will have one heck of a fishing dinghy. The 88 MPH mark should be way within reach (I removed the sink) with it, and the fuel economy will be 30-40% better than what I first expected.

Thanks for posting those numbers Keith, highly appreciated. Next time you're visiting your Dad, please stop by for a ride.
