300x compression difference from port to starboard

I recently built four stroker motors and realized the starboard bank on all four motors was 4 to 6 psi higher then the port. Upon further investigation I found my mercury starboard pistons were .004" higher from the top of the wrist pin to the top of the piston then the port pistons. I am using factory mercury pistons. I am in the process of making different heads for my port and starboard banks so the compression matches. Any one else notice a compression difference from port to starboard?
