Check out My Tunnel That came in From California Today.
I got got this 17’ Tunnel in from California today. It is a 1970 Duo Mystry 17’ Tunnel. It has been in the same owners garage for 42 yrs. The couple I bought it from are in there low 80's. It has 285 hrs on it. The boat was re powered in 1986 with 1985 Mercury 150HP V6. The interior was re done 10 yrs ago due to cracking as well as re gelled because it has a few checks in the gel. It is the nicest old boat I have seen in along time that is in showroom condition. Out of all the boats I have bought this one was under described and the nicest used boat I have ever bought. And I have had alot of boats. The boat motor and trailer could pass as a one year old boat. It was used for pleasure an skiing all its life. I am going to add a jack plate, remove oil injection, timing box and change the reeds. I’m going to try a CLE I have but may have to cone the 2:1 lower that on
it and try some different props. My plan is for a Tower Of Power 150HP 15" to make it more period correct. Here are a few Photos.

Well either way congrats on your new purchase... The boat definitely looks best buy gift card glitch showroom worthy as you were stating.. Like the couple that had it before really did a nice job at keeping it clean and in good shape..
Have you taken her out on the water yet? How's her "performance".... if ya catch my drift.Last edited by TheBestInTheBiz; 07-15-2015 at 05:21 PM.

Whatever the price, you got a great buy. Mint vintage boats are so cool. My buddy had one of these on the upper Chesapeake Bay back in the day with (as I remember) a 105 Chrysler on it.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.

Nice find,
Glad you got it. I bet the original owners had a great life with it! It must have been hard to get acceptance and sell a big part of there past.
The tower of Power will be perfect.L.T.
